Love the health tips and ways to lead a more healthy, optimal life

This just became my favorite podcast
I’ve been to 14 doctors who don’t understand ferritin or riboflavin- I know this podcast is not medical advice but it is imperative that if you want optimal health you must educate yourself!! This is a great podcast to start!

    Prepare before you record
I’m a health and nutrition nut and love learning. But 5 min in to your podcast and I had to turn it off it was annoying me so much. So much dead air while you tried to read a study on the topic of psyllium. It’s like you were reading the info for the first time while recording. Dude. Read the studies and make some notes and THEN record your podcast to bring the info to your audience. Geeze… most painful podcast I’ve ever heard.

    Alarmist fear-mongering
Had to unsubscribe. Very healthy dose of fear-mongering and paranoia spreading with regards to vaccines and mandates. Not sure if his sensibility and credibility any longer.

    Wish it was longer
Chris is soooo smart and I love these topics. I just wish they were longer

    Detailed Covid 19 information
Thanks Chris for the information regarding Covid 19. I am keeping notes. In the event I or someone I know ends is hospitalized I will know what to ask the healthcare professionals and what to keep an eye on. Your podcasts are precise and informative. Information is power and I feel like I have (at least a little bit) of control over this virus.

    A Brilliant Mind!
I still believe in all that follows but - now the podcast is mostly a bunch of annoying tidbits that aren’t worth the intro & exit. Sorry Chris. I first heard Chris on a Jimmy Moore podcast. He is amazing to listen to as he describes various biological functions within our bodies. He is always thinking outside of the popular beliefs in the the health & nutrition world. You'll learn a lot by listening to Chris. This podcast is educational and enlightening, I'm glad Chris decided to start podcasting on his own.

    Master's level nutrition for free
Besides doling out $100K for an advanced degree, I know of few other ways to get such quality nutrition education resources. This podcast, and Masterjohn's related resources, provide that education. After getting my master's degree in nutrition, I use Chris Masterjohn's material to keep me up to date with the latest clinical research. I even used his mastering nutrition courses to study for the exam to become a registered dietitian - and his material is even better. Take charge of your health, take charge of your knowldege, and make it engaging and interesting by following Dr. Masterjohn's comprehensive and valuable work! Six stars!

Information you're not likely to find elsewhere
I've been listening to Chris' Mastering Nutrition, and Masterjohn Lite for years. I've learned so much that I've been able to apply to myself. For example, using a Histamine Blocker to stop headaches has been a godsend for me; and the podcast about collagen, glycine and methylation helped me get my homocystine levels down. I highly recommend Chris' podcasts for everyone who cares about their health.

    Trustworthy...Practical Advice...Invaluable
I feel so fortunate to have found Chris M. I’ve already taken several “low hanging fruit” steps to improve my health through his Nutritional Cheat Sheet, even though I’ve been following other health experts for several years. I appreciate how he always teaches how and what to eat first, and then gives info on supplements. He’s very objective and doesn’t seem tied to any one approach or fad which is especially refreshing currently because most experts seem to be pushing so hard on keto, which just isn’t for me. Highly recommend his Cheat Sheet - it’s very inexpensive especially given its value. Thanks Dr. Masterjohn!!!

    Masterjohn’s Masterclass
Chris’s podcast has historically been one of my absolute favorites. In its initial phases, it has been, in my estimation, the single best nutrition podcast on iTunes, bar none. Now, however still good, it has been diluted for the masses such that it’s lost a good deal of its depth and, therefore, at least for the research scientist in me, much of my attention. I am not a fan of the shortened, abbreviated “just what works” episodes; at least not without some of his old long-form stuff I find intellectually stimulating. But, that said, it’d still be one of the first nutrition podcasts I would share with my family, friends, and colleagues.

    Scientifically proven health information
Chris Masterjohn's extensive understanding of scientific studies is impressive. So many times people follow incorrect concepts but his analysis of the information provides the most accurate information regarding what is really the most helpful to maximize health and wellness. Much appreciated.

Great podcast for geeking out on nutrition
Sometimes, it's great to get into the proverbial weeds of nutrition research - if that's your thing, this is the place to do it. At the same time, I really appreciate the cliff notes at the beginning. This is a great service, Dr Masterjohn!

Best Podcast to learn the biochemistry of nutrition!
Dr Masterjohn is a 'master' educator! I've been following him for years, and he is always 'spot on' with the science. He is concise and articulate and has great insight. He can explain complex biochemistry in an easy to understand manner. I’ve been reading and studying biochemistry for years (just for fun :) and he is the best! Thanks Criss for all you do!

Best health podcast I've listened to
Best health podcast I've listened to. Chris is very knowledgeable and explains his topics very logically with sound science. It may be difficult for people without science background to understand fully since he goes so deep into the science, so don't get discouraged by that. Just gotta take more time to learn all the information condensed into his podcasts. Great job Chris, keep up the fantastic work. This is better than any of the university biochemistry or physiology courses I've taken in the past. I've personally benefitted tremendously health-wise from his podcasts!
  • BreaK82
Chris deserves a Nobel Prize for his work. Seriously.
I do not think I've come across a scientist quite like Chris Masterjohn... and I have crossed paths with many. The way he goes about tackling an issue is remarkable, and he is a fantastic educator. His information and advice is truly priceless. Subscribe and see for yourself..
  • What's coming next
He is my favorite source for sound health advice
Absolutely love listening to the information that Chris brings and how he describes and conveys science about health and nutrition. Such a calm voice, too. You need to check it out, he also has YouTube presentations which I enjoy as well.

    Best Health/Nutrition Podcast Out There
If you're interested in health and nutrition, you have to check out Mastering Nutrition. It's a perfect blend of useful/actionable information and the science behind it, and it's produced by one of the most brilliant minds in the health and nutrition field. If you like it, also check out his other two series Masterclass with Masterjohn and Chris Masterjohn Lite.

An in depth review on health and nutrition
With so many confusing roads in health and nutrition, this podcast is an excellent resource to understand the mechanisms behind why how our bodies respond to different inputs. Everyone's body is different, and we all respond differently to medications, food, supplements, etc. Dr. Chris does an outstanding job of covering most variables and explains how we can augment our approach to achieve our desired results.

    Encyclopedic knowledge of nutrition
I’ve had the privilege of working directly with Chris and must say his knowledge of nutrition science is vast. Sometimes the pod gets a little deep into the science for my non-scientist ears, but good to know the deep mechanistic knowledge is there. I don’t think there is a more knowledgable source on the internet for nutritional guidance.
  • Straycurrent
    A wealth of information
Chris's presentations are among the most informative and objective sources to be found on the internet. No fanciful claims about the magic of this or that food or supplement -- just good solid science. His selection of topics, depth of coverage, and organization of the subject matter are just right.

    Excellent content!
Recent podcast on High Cholesterol (Episdoe 38) is probably one of the best I've ever heard on the topic! Really excellent insight.
  • laptopllama
    Simultaneously practical and deeply educational
Every episode combines two things that are rare in the internet health world: actionable advice with thorough education on the biological processes behind it. It's impressive that it succeeds at being something I can suggest to both science nerds and regular people that want to improve their health.

    Quality info
Excellent info provided for each episode I have listened to. I like the cliff notes at the beginning. He provides unbiased, balanced info and doesn't have an agenda to push. The Mastering Nutrition classes are really valuable to me. Smart dude.

    Eloquent and Informed
Love this podcast. Very clear and concise. Touches on subjects that are often downplayed or left out in school. Debunks some myths, clears up misconceptions. Mostly just has great biochemical geek sessions.

    Nutrition nerd and great educator!
First realized Chris was podcasting when I heard an interview he did at the PaleoFX conference (Chris isn't paleo) and have been listening ever since! Chris is a scientist at heart who also happens to be a great educator. I have acquired so much information from him that I have been able to immediately apply to my own life and issues. His last podcast was on glutathione management and it was incredibly helpful. Recently, outside of his podcast, he put together a resource on vitamin K2--its the best and most comprehensive resource out there. Anyway, I highly recommend Chris and his podcast. He's an extensive researcher and an independent thinker for whom I have great respect and appreciation. Thank you, Chris!

enlightening nutrition research spiced with practical personal experience
While I listen to a fair share of health and nutrition podcasts I havent been inspired to write a review --until -- the daily lipid came on line. Chris elucidates a tremedous amount of the latest nutirtion research and brings it home with new metaphors and personal experience that makes it all make sense. And also I never think to pay any attention to opening music - but I happen to feel really eneergized by the Daily Llipid's music -- just as the podcast itself is energizing!
  • Great Photo App
    Extremely informative!
I am so Glad I have stumbled across Chris Masterjohn PH.D. ' s podcast! I believe from one of the girls on the balanced bites podcast mentioned it and I am hooked! The knowledge of information on nutrition and the biochemical response is fascinating & much easier to understand from his explanation than trying to learn it in school!
  • Dave Yost
    Real nutrition information
This is not yet another nutrition rant pushing someone's opinions. Masterjohn presents essential nutrition research and analyzes it in a way that's fascinating and understandable. Throughout his podcasts he focuses not just on ideas but on how those ideas are or are not supported by evidence.

YES. Give me all the biochem
So stoked that Chris has a podcast now! Chris has always been one of my favorite voices in the ancestral nutrition/research community for his level headedness, intelligence, and extremely educational writings. Come to find out he's also pretty funny, and great at podcasting! And I love that he explains the biochemistry behind a lot of the topics. Chris, I think I remember you asking on one of the episodes whether there was too much biochemistry...the answer is no. Never too much biochemistry.

Best science class out there by far!! Chris is it!!

    Nutritional Biochemistry at its Finest
Since I am a university trained biochem geek, even though I now do robotics, I MAY, be a bit biased but if you are even slightly interested in a deeper understanding of nutrition, especially at a cellular and sub cellular level, and practical implications as well as applications of this knowledge, then Chris Masterjohn and his Daily Lipid podcast as well as blog are a must-have on your list of intellectual resources. A true powerhouse in this realm.
  • TheSeeker14
    Superior!
Thank you Chris for providing such a straightforward and in depth discussion on a interesting range of topics. Really appreciate your style! Would love to hear your thoughts on some of the lower protein diets that seem increasingly popular in the ancestral/paleo/functional health communities-such as those advocated by Dr. Hyman, Ben Greenfield, Dr. Mercola and others. Keep up the fantastic work!
