Rkent484Aug 21August 21 episode with Valerie was amazing. I immediately downloaded the Kindle book and have had a hard time putting it down much like listening to every episode of this podcast. Matt and Seaton are extremely real with their conversations and I have enjoyed every episode, Murdaugh related or not.

Jennifer PodcasterHarpootlian doesn’t work pro bonoI spat my coffee when you suggested Murdaugh’s attorneys could be working pro bono. Nope. There’s money. There’s trust money. Love the podcast.

jweirz22Setons Dad RocksGreat episode about prisoners rights. You guys continue to produce shows that are fascinating and informative! Love I you guys!

Stamping outMurdaughIs it a regional difference, why does everyone from SC say Murdock?

C 3 C!Fantastic PodcastAbsolutely love this podcast! Have followed and listened from the beginning! You always bring factual, honest, and diplomatic commentary! It’s refreshing to listen to. The other podcast with this story should take some lessons from you. Their sarcasm and arrogance ruined their podcast and I can no longer listen to it. I am captivated with this story and appreciate your take on it!

thoughtful2020Episode 143 one of the worstI’ve been a regular listener but this episode reminds me how these two have no credentials, Matt Harris is all over the board, likes to hear himself talk, and lacks professionalism. Did we watch the same Netflix show or hear/see same trial. And as far as Judge Newman’s bias, judges speaking to/sentencing someone after a jury finds the defendant guilty doesn’t give them the benefit of the doubt any longer. It seems the judge was profoundly sad that someone he had worked with turned out not to be what he thought. Makes me question whether these two are on the Murdaugh payroll to sow doubt at all costs, no integrity what so ever. To hear them tell the story these ‘white collar crimes’ of taking advantage of others aren’t really deserving of punishment. So disappointing.

cockcommanderGreat podcastI really enjoy this podcast and this episode with Valerie Bauerlein is one of the best! So many new details about the Murdaughs and Alex’s victims. I’m looking forward to reading the book.

All_flThe Worst InterviewGiving so much benefit of the doubt to the dismissed Murdaugh trial juror was it for me. She doesn’t make sense, she’s all over the place, and comes off as completely unreliable. The conclusions she’s making are not based on logic, but and y’all keep going with the interview as if it does make sense. The nonsense that is being spun makes my head hurt.

pvbbeeUnbiased which makes biased people madIt’s hilarious reading the reviews that say this podcast is biased because literally every one is mad that they aren’t taking the side they’re on. I actually think it’s petty clear that they both think he’s guilty but the fact that they even give the other side a chance to speak makes them biased?! Also they challenge a lot of their guests but I guess they’re just not as aggressive as some people want? They’re both very open about the fact that they’re learning as they go, open to feedback, and not perfect. That’s actually my favorite thing about this podcast. It’s real, and yet still doesn’t feel amateur bc they clearly put a ton of work into it and take it very seriously. Keep doing you guys! But Matt, maybe just try to interrupt less. That’s coming from a place of understanding bc I’m an interrupter but I’ve learned that if I try to be really conscious about it, I can control it.

$putter$GreatLove Seton’s Dad. This was the best explanation of what to expect moving forward.
-
SCGrandma567UnfollowedStarting to feel this show is an avenue to promote more corruption by the good ole boy legal tycoons. No thanks

Downanotch““we didn't actually read all the reports”Gossipy, uninformed podcast which spews speculation, filled with ‘I guess’es and very little actual fact based reporting. Very slanted opinions propping up the old hierarchy as well. Don’t waste your time.
-
medicshelly223Let the PEOPLE you invite on TALK, without Matt interrupting…I enjoy the podcast, however, the last podcast, Part-3 on Jimmy, Matt you INTERRUPTED entirely TOO MUCH. The guest had great information to share, but Matt would NOT STOP interrupting into the flow of the guest story, it was HARD, if not impossible to listen too.

Lucianne M. AdamsMy Favorite PodcastI LOVE Seton!!! I also love all the Murdaugh content. Thank you for your unbiased opinions. Don’t listen to a bad review 😒. Y’all are perfect. I’ve been a listener from day one. Y’all do a great job and I love all the indepth info. Keep up the good work!

NotHappyx36AppreciateThanks for the show about Seton’s dad taking part in the 1965 Selma March. I bet a bunch of listeners were enlightened about how abysmal the living experience of Black people was during that time. Plus the present day attack against voting rights should be concerning to all decent Americans.
-
Watching/waitingPlease work on not interrupting Seton.Perhaps a Public Speaking course would improve the whole pace and audience engagement of this podcast.

SamJamthankyoumaam8Excellent coverage of the Murdaugh family and beyondThis is an amazing podcast. It has always been a solid, unbiased look at all of the facts. Some podcasts on this subject were clearly bias focused (which is fine, I enjoyed listening to their updates as well) but this podcast really went the extra mile, bringing in experts from so many different areas to comment on the case. I am so glad Matt and Seton decided to continue the podcast and cover other cases. I truly enjoy listening to them and their insights.

M}noAlas, I’m lateI started this podcast in 2024 after it was all over. I was annoyed with the real lack of substance to start. But somewhere in there, the show started bringing in “experts” like 911 operators, lawyers, bankers, Feebees… and the podcast blossomed. Where else would we here a linguist discuss the origins of Creole? Or the fella that talked about how hunters casually hold long guns? The hosts became old friends I looked forward to seeing over and over. So far I’m on episode 74 and I’m not only not bored, I am actually upset that I only have about 120 left. The fact that a jury has spoken doesn’t change the drama which is expertly unpacked. I know I have a ways to go but what happened to ALL THAT MONEY? I’m sure someone as confident as Murtaugh thinks he’s going to get out and the $$$will be waiting for him. Drug addiction was the excuse du jour. All that money. All that money. Great job!!! Hey guys. Get another murder stat so you can start all over!
-
Perry55123The Best In the Business!!Matt and Seton give a straight forward podcast with insight others don’t have! Non biased and accurate reporting!! Listen, listen, listen!!!! Great job!!!
-
Vince_VersaBrilliantI haven’t listened to this podcast and probably won’t. Why? Because I’m not interested in anything Murdaugh in the least. But since Mindy Mutley likes to put this podcast down I came here to give it 5 stars.
-
Interested GuestMaggie Murdaugh FamilyI have enjoyed these podcasts, Has anyone ever heard anything from any of the many family members of Maggie, Their opinion of the trial results would speak volumes.
-
Pammie26Very informativeThis podcast is one of my favorites you guys do a great job reporting keep the stories coming
-
Rae1114Interesting Story - not a credible person for factsThis Linder-Newhouse story is interesting and might be worth following and doing actual investigative work. But Lori has lost a lot of credibility and even on this interview doesn’t sound credible. Too many “I imagine” and speculation answers. Hopefully you can dig deeper and get more facts.
-
ParksB17Best Murdaugh Podcast!!This is the ONLY podcast (Murdaugh related) that is unbiased and will report the facts instead of their own personal opinions! I LOVE the fact they had Jim Griffin and Sara Azara on there this week!! Hats off to them!! Update….great show today as well!! I really enjoy listening to Lori! I wasn’t even aware she had a TikTok but I will be following her now that I know. I have seen her on Court TV numerous times and love seeing her go head to head with Eric Bland. (He makes my blood boil every time I hear him open his mouth and spit out lies)
-
NessiebumWhich hills are you running to?Love! Love! Love! This podcast has been my favorite dealing with the Murdaugh madness from the beginning! I appreciate Matt and Seatons explanations and insights and the fact you’re willing to have any side on to share. So, if you feel like you really should take others advice and run for the hills - feel free to run up here to the Great Smoky Mountains! You’re more than welcome!

LaineySampsI just Can’t AnymoreI’ve been listening to this podcast basically since inception. And I rode with it for quite some time. But the bias toward Murdaugh is getting too much to ignore. When Matt said on the latest episode that the goal was to seek the truth and he insinuated that Judge Toal may not have been, then Seton said Becky Hill appeared to be coached, but they completely ignored how blatant it was that the juror who kept changing her story was coached, I literally laughed out loud. Team Murdaugh HAS to be paying these guys. They are the only podcast I listen to that blatantly ignores that this monster is GUILTY AS SIN. Also, don’t bother reading my review on air. I won’t be around to hear it. I’m officially #OverIt
-
Ernies motherAttorney on your communications and the repercussionsLove this podcast, but the attorney speaking on whether or not the jurors could get in trouble for the way they voted and not reporting any miscommunications was so long and dull. I would suggest she’s not a guest on your show anymore. She said the same thing over and over and over.

DrWhip cream pickleBest kind/non biased podcastThank you! Only podcast related to Murdaugh I trust now
-
Soto MizerGreat showSo much better than the one sided view for. The other podcast that cover this case
-
DylnGabesNanaGreat jobI appreciate the pretty much balanced info y’all bring. I have nothing but praise. If there’s something I don’t agree mostly I can still listen to learn. Only one or two guests I could not put my personal feelings aside, so I just didn’t listen lol. Keep up the good work.
-
carolinagirl1323Way below the standard of other Murdaugh podcastsThis is a very “opinion” based podcasts where there are others that really seem to do the work of evaluating and presenting facts. Very meh…
-
Kathyb527NameAny chance you could start pronouncing his name correctly? Mur daw!
-
MittenMysteryFair, Objective, InformativeI always look forward to the unbiased stance both of you offer when it comes to the Murdaugh case. With so much division, your podcast is a weekly breathe of fresh air. I have never felt that I need to choose a side when listening each week. Thank you for providing such a fair perspective on all of the ins and outs of this messy case. I know it cannot be easy to keep up with! Job well done. May justice prevail wherever the truth leads.

ELMommieTale of Two PodcastsThe Murdaugh saga is a fascinating one but there’s another story of the beef between this highly listenable amateur podcast and the top-rated podcast hosted by an ambitious yellow journalist afflicted with vocal fry. There’s name calling, accusations of underhanded internet behavior, and a whole lot of self aggrandizing on the one side and a couple of regular folks discussing the news on the other. Why is the muckraker threatened by this casual commentary? I may do some digging and then put out a podcast to explore that question. Someone else can do the same and we get really meta up in this place. Update: it’s been a couple of years and I’m still listening to every episode of both podcasts. I really enjoy the difference approaches to the “unfolding saga.”
-
44-latekGood jobThank you for a solid work. I find this podcast interesting and relevant in the larger social discourse. It is well prepared. It is conducted more like a living room conversation (which is what gives it its particular relaxed atmosphere) than with an adherence to a profesional/journalism code of conduct. Still, the hosts have good intentions, seem transparent about their goals, strengths and weaknesses. No surprises. It is nice to hear a more lay take on the controversial issues.

121664Becky but kissersIf you want news don't listen to this
-
Robert197312004Awesome ShowI love this show. Seton and Matt have shown unbiased coverage in cases where other podcasts lean into a narrative. Keep up the great work. Robert P - The Broken System Podcast
-
Kbatch27Becoming biasedI have listened to every episode. I used to consider it fair and balanced. But lately with the credibility given to Lawyer Lori while denigrating the Gordons - especially my Matt - has been completely unbalanced. I’m not sure how much longer I can listen.
-
Thunderturtle1Thou doth protest too muchInteresting how many times I’ve heard the hosts taut their unbiased coverage- although multiple times I’ve heard them both restate evidence incorrectly (not because they investigated themselves, only repeated what was stated or presented in court incorrectly). After mentioning things that have happened in court or filings, both are quick to state “I don’t know what that means” or “i didn’t hear that”. If you don’t know what something means, you just discount it? How is that unbiased? They also like to say they have no issues with other podcasts on Murdaugh then minutes later talk about how other podcasts are biased. Matt and Seton you are clearly biased. When you choose speak about evidence or testimony and discount anything that doesn’t point toward reasonable doubt or a conspiracy theory to frame Alex, THAT IS BIASED “reporting”! At least the other podcasts you and “lawyer Lori” mention are honest enough to state they’re biased and fully believe in the investigations they have done themselves. How much true investigative reporting on your part has gone into your coverage? May want to consider if regurgitating what you remember from Netflix shows or dateline and basing your “reasonable doubt” on other reporter’s coverage and rumors is honest podcasting.

The Lupine LadyNeed clarification BH Copious Notes of TrialQuestion: Do you know the facts as to exactly when the copious notes were made of the trial? You and other podcasters suggest Becky Hill may have been “journaling” and seem to suggest that somehow calling it journaling makes it ok, without any facts. Isn’t the issue: whether you call it note taking or journaling, was it one of her job duties as clerk of court to sit in the courtroom during the trial and make copious trial notes, ie, during work hours/on county time, and the notes she made are thus county property/ county records? Conversely, instead, did she make trial notes solely for her book and only on her own personal time, like during her allowed time for lunch breaks or go home after the work day and then write her notes at home that night, for that trial day , from memory of the day’s events? Even if making trial notes was one of her job duties, and she made notes on county time, is she then allowed to take those notes off the job premises in order to use them to write her book? ( or if she made them electronically at work, was it allowable for her to remote access them off work hours for personal reasons- the book) If she brought her personal journal to the courtroom and sat in there on county time, making “ journaling” notes solely for her book, when it was not one of her job duties to do so, and taking time away from her other duties, then that “ journaling” would seem to be improper. So if you don’t have the facts, why aren’t you at least asking these questions?

cori1973I am doneEvery time I listen to an episode I say to myself “I’ll give it another shot” yet I continue to be disappointed. Y’all are clearly biased. You say you aren’t but it comes through loud and clear.

Ada8215Lawyer LoriI tried to find an email after her most recent appearance. I know you try to represent both sides but she was reckless with her comments. I appreciate Seaton’s attempts to challenge some of Lawyer Lori’s comments . Matt just let her continue with out of control comments. I later saw her on Court TV and she was rude and defensive to the co-writer of Becky Hill’s book. She also insulted his wife. Please don’t give this woman anymore of a platform then she already has even if she does elevate viewership. You two have built a good reputation and having her on your podcast definitely tarnishes the work you have done. Sorry this is under reviews. Please make it easier to email comments. I’m rating 3 stars only on her appearance. I enjoy your podcast.

andi.b22Biased much? This podcast is getting ridiculous.
-
ADK0607Balanced coverageI appreciate your willingness to allow everyone the opportunity to express their opinion. Most are unwilling to share both sides of a story.
-
tcairpodsRun Seton!Good Lord! I can’t listen to Matt and his nonsense any more. Nothing he says is based in reality. Run Seton and do your own thing.
-
melissafitzFormerly entertaining, now cringeyI’ll start off by saying I like Seton and Matt — he reminds me of a goofy high school teacher and she seems smart and funny; both seem sincere. I toggled between Impact and MMP up through the trial and, perhaps because it was so compelling, I have kept listening to these podcasts post-trial. I think, however, both podcasts are struggling to find relevance post-verdict. Impact in particular is now giving Tik Tok whack-a-dos an additional platform to bulldoze her opinions over everyone and listening to attorney Joe was excruciating. It is clear that both of those guests enjoy the sound of their own voices above all else. Just because people are attorneys and have opinions (and perhaps even audiences) does not mean they are worth listening to or that they will add value to the conversation. Anyway, I suppose I’ll keep listening to Impact and just avoid the episodes with Joe & Tik tok lady. But I bet you all can find better folks with similar (pro-retrial) takes. Ps — I liked the old intro better — it reminded me of the intro to the “Veterinarian Hospital” skit on the Muppet Show and always made me smile.
-
nbmerrillOopsDid I get Matt and Joe mixed up? Sorry.
-
Irv listenerRidiculousThis used to be relatively balanced until it went red pill with TikTok lawyers and rehashed talking points from the defense team. I can’t stomach it any more. Don’t waste your time.
-
TereniaMoodyLove the info!Update: The December 1st episode with Lawyer Lori is one of my favorite! I appreciate the unbiased reporting of facts and the presentation of both sides. I love catching up on all the new information and expert viewpoints through your Podcast and I appreciate the lack of drama and just stating of the facts!
-
2go2MexicoPlease don’t go thereI’m just going to ask politely that you do not dig up the Larry Gene Bell case. It’s not worth the pain and heartache you will inflict on the families of the victims. It’s in the past so please leave it there out of respect . Your ratings are not more important than their peace of mind. Respectfully D~
