Listened several times. This is not about coaching leaders this is about psychologically helping someone grappling with leadership at ground level. Real Leaders is a misnomer.

Muriel does an excellent job of asking probing questions of her guests and, as a result, her audience, about their careers, how they want to show up at work, and how to address roadblocks. I get something out of every episode.

I’m really enjoying this series and admire Muriel’s clarity, constructive spirit, and engaging coaching approach. As a coach myself, I appreciate Muriel so much!

Coaching is a skill. An art. And when it’s working, it feels effortless. These conversations with real leaders are fascinating because Muriel keeps them grounded. The original premise of every episode is important, but Muriel gets to the more interesting root of it each time by asking straightforward questions, challenging guests gently but firmly, and offering wisdom that is accessible to everyone. Seriously love that these episodes can be valuable both for all Leaders and for aspiring Coaches. Keep up the great work!

Brilliant podcast, incredibly helpful!

This show is a lesson in deep listening, asking great questions, and questioning our assumptions. I love getting to “eavesdrop” on what is usually a closed-door dynamic (reminds me of Where Should We Begin with Esther Perel in that way) and getting to hear the client’s transformation in real time. Muriel is a real one.

I get something from every episode. This is a podcast that provides a lot of value!

Several weeks ago, I started listening to Miruel's podcast. I have to admit it wasn't love at first sight, but as I listened more, I started to connect with her content. I've listened to more than half of the episodes she offers, and I find them invaluable and eye-opening, not only for the leaders who join the show but also for us listeners. I love it, and I'm sure once I complete all the episodes, I'll go back and listen to them again. I can’t thank enough for this amazing work.

I have listened to many podcast over the years but this is the first one to actually provide a good insight on how the coaching process work. I could see myself talking to the host and reflecting a long the episodes. Great content and keep it going!

Listening to Muriel talk though professional challenges in real time with her clients is like watching an expert aerialist perform a high-wire act with someone who just walked in off the street. It takes extraordinary skill and pose as well as breathtaking courage from both participants. Both coach and clients navigate between presenting a professional identity and displaying the vulnerability needed to have a real conversation about desires, hopes, and fears. The result is riveting.

Sometimes this podcast feels like going to church. Thank you so much for the amazing content. I always walk away learning something new about myself and how I can show up better, for myself, at work and in life.

I started listening to this podcast because one specific episode stood out to me as very relevant to a problem I was having at work. Often, the coaching session takes turns that aren’t evident in the title, so I found that even episodes where the title didn’t immediately resonate with me, there are great coaching nuggets that apply to my experiences. The more you listen, the more you’ll see patterns in Muriel’s coaching that you can apply broadly or with your own reports. Muriel has an amazing way of asking questions that help you discover the answer within yourself, but she also provides frameworks that help you think through it, and she’s great with analogies and metaphors that bring so much clarity to the process.

This is a great podcast. You get to hear real-life leadership struggles first hand. Muriel is clearly an expert coach, guiding and illuminating with a deft touch. Her approach and observations are super insightful.

I love sharing these with people who are dealing with similar situations. It gives them an opportunity to hear what coaching is, while helping them hear how someone else in a similar situation worked through their situation. I listen to a lot of great podcasts about leadership and managing - this is my favorite!! The format of the show is ingenious because, by listening to Muriel talk guests through their challenges, you learn about both the coaching practice itself and how to deal with common leadership challenges. As a senior manager, I can relate to struggles in almost every episode. It’s like I’m getting my own personal coach for free! Muriel is such a talented coach and teaches me something new every time.

When I listened to the episode on disillusionment with the executive team, “Killing me softly with his song” popped into my head because the episode was so apropos to my situation! So many of these episodes are- highly recommend!

A friend recommended Muriel’s podcast a year ago just as I began to lead a larger team and moved into a new and expanded role. Hearing Muriel coach other leaders through their challenges helped me so much during those early months. Each conversation was like reading an entire book on leadership and management. I run a small company. Like most entrepreneurs, I run into new challenges almost daily. I wasn’t sure a podcast from HBR would be relevant for to me, given the small size of my business. But the situation posed by the leader in an educational institution struggling to understand how to prioritize a longterm goal is almost exactly what I’m struggling with. Muriel’s questions were incredibly insightful, and I found her candor both refreshingly direct and still compassionate. I’ve listened to a lot of business podcasts, and this is one of the best.

I wanted to live this but it’s slow, the insights are pretty basic, and Muriel’s voice timbre is tough to listen to. I keep trying every episode but can’t finish them.

Muriel brings a helpful, direct, and compassionate style to each conversation with a client. I’m grateful for her generosity in hosting this show and also to the leaders who share their struggles and stories. A wonderful resource for leaders who are seeking immediate, practical steps for what’s next in growing their skills.

I was intrigued initially with this podcast I think it has a lot of potential. I went back to the beginning episode one and extremely disappointed on episode two when they brought Raism into the picture for no apparent reason, although the issue seem to be a supervisor or boss as they put, it, had nothing to do with race, but they continue to bring it in, even after the person with the issue said the person basically is not racist has a great heart they continue to use the word racist although the coach is not a therapist she should at least recommended the person going to see a therapist, so they understand the difference between racism and just poor management. I can’t say I’m really super surprised considering the other Harvard business review podcast moved to left agenda only instead of staying neutral and trying to support people in general. They are trying to influence only..

Having the ability to listen to other leaders explain their issues is so incredibly relatable and really helps the coaching from Muriel hit home so much more. I’m bingeing every episode and can’t wait for more to come out!

Ms. Muriel Wilkins is doing what she was born to do. She is incredibly gifted as a coach. She deftly leads leaders to answer their own burning questions through her savvy execution. As a mid-career manager, I have learned so much from Muriel in every episode; there are golden nuggets that I carry away every time I listen.

This podcast is a wealth of knowledge. Muriel has such a talent for identifying the real cause of the coaching clients roadblock. She helps the client break down the issue in a way that makes it both much more clear and seem like less of an insurmountable challenge. Her discussions are always positive and offer actionable, relevant advice for the listener as well. My only gripe is the length of the podcast and the frequency. I want more! I wish the episodes were 1 hour + and posted every week.
