Washington for Beautiful People

50

Washington for Beautiful People is an LA produced podcast, hosted by former CIA Operative and improv comedian, Emily Brandwin, aka, CIAspygirl. The podcast brings together those important west coast voices in the entertainment industry and tech sectors who have been active in bringing attention to and amplifying the political, foreign policy and national security issues that affect our country. (The pod’s title is a play on the famous Jay Leno comment that Washington is Hollywood for ugly people.) Emily also regularly brings in former government colleagues and experts while drawing both on her roots as an improv comedian and her background in the intelligence community.

Great conversations with smart, funny people
I enjoy listening to Emily's show because of the entertaining and freewheeling conversations she has with her guests. Every episode sounds like a convo between old friends over beers, and that's what makes listening to this show so fun.

please keep posting because NO ONE & when i SAY no one, i mean NO ONE listens to news anymore becuase .... and mathmatically speaking ... and brace yourself .... most kids dont keep up with news and politcs because they have no idea who to believe ANYMORE.. AND as youre already aware, most kids just dont care about anything sometimes, and to get nonsense and propaganda from other sources crushes their soul and confuses them so much they want to kill themselves. please. keep posting. please. i beg you.

The Intersection of Entertainment & Espionage
This podcast is fantastic for that Venmo diagram of pop-culture vultures and NatSec nerds (which, lets be honest, is pretty much a circle) who are looking for interesting conversations about foreign affairs, intelligence operations, and agents (both kinds). Someone should build a bot that posts a link to this podcast every time a celebrity tweets about politics and some touchhole replies to “stick to singing/acting/producing/painting/dribbling.”

    Washington For Beautiful People
A wonderful entertaining podcast. The episode about Key Lime Pie with Andrew Zimmerman was thoughtful. Andrew’s story about Social Justice and his travels was insightful

    Great new podcast voice
Really enjoying Washington for Beautiful People, and happy to see the show has its own feed now! The host (Emily Brandwin - former CIA) has a unique POV, and does a nice job of keeping each conversation interesting and relevant. And she gets really fascinating guests. It’s like being invited to a conversation between two friends. Plus who knew CIA folks were funny??!!
