The Secret World Chronicle, Book Five: Waiting On

13

The heroes of Echo and the villains of the Thule Society continue the battle in the fifth book of The Secret World Chronicle, Waiting On. In this shorter podcast-only season, the heroes of Echo struggle with their own pasts and demons as they wait for the organization to regain strength following a devastating loss. Famed fantasy and sci-fi author Mercedes Lackey and SWC perennials Dennis Lee, Cody Martin, and Veronica Giguere tell the stories of fan favorites Seraphym, Red Djinni, Victoria Victrix, Mercurye, and John Murdock. The Secret World Chronicles
The books in these series are excellent. The narrator is pure gold. The best female narrator I’ve ever listened to. My only problem with this series is not the series itself. My problem is possibly with the podcast app ( I think). I listened to this on my IPhone. I couldn’t get this to to playback from the beginning of the books 1-5 and episodes in sequence 1-7 or whatever the last chapter in the book was. There was one book I managed to listen in sequence for part of the book, then the next day, it played in backward order. This ruined a perfectly great book. If playback was correct I would have given this 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

    Happily waiting for more
Book five is an excellent extension on the podcasts from this series. The production quality and narration is top shelf, on par with other great podcasts I have experienced. I really liked the deep background on characters I have been following throughout this series, and has really added to the character development. Thank you to all who are involved in this series. I look forward to future stories and sharing them with my eight year old son. He loved the "Solar Clipper" series from Nathan Lowell, and will really love this story. He already has a crush on Red Saviour, who wouldn't. Cheers, Johnny

Patience in a virtue, but I ain
... and that's the only reason I didn't give five stars, I can't stand waiting for the next episodes, the next part of the tale, the next reason to ride with a great story in my ear. The episodes are never long enough, the story always seems so much bigger than what's told in every episode, and I find myself wanting to hear every other story that's not being told in this world mizz Lackey has created. The voice actors really make the story breathe and live in my mind's eye, to the point that I've sometimes found myself needing to stop what I'm doing to dedicate myself to the tale. Keep up the fantastic work. I will await more with little patience but much interest.
