You guys are just too positive about this show and acting like it was the perfect show ever made. Come on guys… Everything that was highly questionable, you all thought was incredible and perfect story telling. I like you all, but your coverage on this show was pretty bad. This reminds me of the fake reviews on IMDB that mislead people. Do better!

I’m a True Detective fan and thought I’d check out the podcast suggested. Instead I found yours first. Then I looked for the HBO one and barely gave it a minute and went back to yours and listened to it again. I was hooked. Loved the community sharing aspect and your insights of film production and I was anxious to hear your thoughts after each episode. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoy this podcast. Love that they truly listen to each other when they speak, and approach covering shows with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. A lot of pods & hosts seem to think they are smarter than show runners and want to really nitpick everything instead of enjoying the ride. The negativity is such a downer. This one is a breath of fresh air. Thanks y’all. Keep up the great work.

This podcast was so educational as well as interesting. Same as the Night Country, True Detective story. I found the ending, so satisfying and freaky at the same time. Loved every minute of both!

It was a pleasure to see Alaskan indigenous people in a movie, unfortunately, there were too many subplots, their lives were depressing, then add the murders and eerie music. Leave out the sexual identity. Everyone is sleeping with everyone. If you know anything about writing you should have a balance of some people who are doing good. But both main characters had demons. Focus should have been just the murders, not all the other problems.

I think True Detective is having the same problems with music like YJ. The first season of YJ had the tribal yelling soundtrack that really drummed up dread. They could have had in with “Qui” which was whistled, but then that was taken over by “Lightness Crashes”. “Qui” was a lot more interesting. “Magic is Afoot” worked. But “Mother” was funny until Shauna lost the baby. :/ It is fine when people are actually listening to music, like Nat and Kevyn in season one or at a high school reunion…but unless this “Twist and Shout” thing pays off…TD’s music could be heading in the same direction. Either way, good observations and great podcast.

Just discovered this because I can’t get enough Night Country and regret not journeying through other shows with them sooner. Excellent analyses and great back and forth. They clearly enjoy what they do and that’s infectious for listeners.

The perspective and insight shared in this podcast is enthralling and not something I otherwise would get the opportunity to be exposed to- can’t recommend enough!

The show needs more details and explanations of the plot, and the connections to previous seasons. Episode 3 was hard to follow.

Axel has a great voice and cool conversational style. Love this podcast!

If you’ve listened to Axel and Heath before you know what you are getting. If you haven’t they have been podcasting together since Lost and it shows. Their chemistry is great and they have great insights into True Detective. This is not a recap show and it’s better for it. They touch more on the themes of each episode.? Unlike some other podcasts, they are also great about interacting with their listeners. Very high recommend!!!

These guys are smooth and fun to listen to. I really enjoy Axle and Solo getting deep on a great show that makes me really think.

Axel and Heath are back together for another run. Loving their deep dives into each episode. Their analysis and theories, mixed with awesome chemistry and humor make for a fantastic listen.

“Two detectives” talking True Detective. No nonsense, just really smart discussion of the show. Love how they bring up other shows they have watched to compare themes and the characters. Highly recommend.
