One of the best book-chat podcasts available. Lengthy interviews with the authors of recent books in Asian Studies. The interviewer clearly knows her stuff, but it smart enough to let the authors have their say. A real service to the field. I just wish they could get the sound better.

East Asian studies nerds, look no further - this is the podcast for you! I've been a listener for a while and love this show, along with many of the other New Books podcasts. Even though I've living in Asia for years, I feel like this show has done a lot to increase my understanding of the region. Although I may not pick up every book that is covered, the discussions are thoroughly informative and work perfectly fine as stand-alone interviews. The show also gets points for its host, Carla, who is so pleasant to listen to! Please keep up the great work!
