Miss Ginger 58Cheesy ChairThis podcast had a strong start but went down hill FAST! It's strayed very far from its original mission. Listening to the arrogant perpetually single daughter with a speech impediment plus extreme lazy vocal fry is like nails on a chalk board. We like hearing you read your stories and love hearing your guest writers too. Please no more of your son providing you daughter dating advice. It's weird in a creepy way. Those episodes are really bad! No one is here to hear your son or daughter read classic fiction either. "Owwwe Ha Huck Huaaa Herrr Hah Hahhh Owwwweee Thatttt waaaasss just great!" My you are very big on that regional NE bizarre yat laugh! Of course you think you child is all that but it's obvious why she's single. Not funny or entertaining. My dear you are not your son and I'm afraid that podcasting just is not a family business. I commend you for wanting to cash in but you just don't have the goods (the description says: author Laura Hurwitz reads you a story continued week to week and that just hasn't been happening past the first few episodes) and those you use as filler just do not cut it. AND NOW you want the listening AUDIENCE to send in material for you and your unattached daughter to read and guffaw over to each other over. Please go back to the podcast you present in your description. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY! No talent and this podcast is misrepresented. A podcast about a 30 something living at home unable to connect with anyone and finding fault in every man who takes her out just isn't a good podcast.

SamgggtfjshdhxyehhsgzbI'm sorry to change my rating from 5 star to 1.Laura Hurwitz's has amazing talent in story telling and writing. Every episode I listen to is complete ear candy and the stories are great. However recently Laura has been having her daughter Hanna on the podcast making a bland, boring series of called "Shoulda swiped left." The series started off with okay intentions but as it dragged on it came off that the stories were boring and it no longer felt like the easy chair I came to know and love. Shoulda swiped left should just have its own podcast so I can actively ignore it.

Nat978my favorite podcastThis is probably the only podcast I’ve ever liked so much that I felt compelled to write a review for it. I don’t know what it is about it, and I’m sure that there are other story-telling podcasts on the internet, but this is definitely my favorite. Because it’s so relaxing, I often listen to it to fall asleep, but then go back in the morning to finish it because I am so involved in the story. -ND

afox2010Extremely compellingDon't let the seemingly innocent title "The Easy Chair" fool you; these are gritty stories of real life. Every story is beautifully constructed with characters you will always find a way to relate to. I will never skip an episode!

LauraOnoLennonAmazing WritingI’ve read Laura Hurwitz’s book “Disappear Home,” and was very excited wen it was announced that she had a podcast of stories! Really good short stories are hard to come by, but hers are really well-written and get a lot of emotion and dynamic characters across considering how short they are. I would highly recommend this podcast!

AceBethExtremely Compelling! While listening to the first episode, I quickly realized that Laura Hurwitz's writing isn't the type of genre that I would typically choose for myself, and I was prepared to dismiss the podcast all together. By the second episode though, I had to admit that while not my usual genre of choice, there's something extremely compelling and beautiful about the stories that Laura tells that sticks with me throughout the week and leaves me wanting more. There's a really beautiful contrast in the harsh realities that a lot of her characters face and the soft, personal way she presents things. Start this podcast at your own risk, because it's unexpectedly addictive!

rkftw68Can't wait for moreLaura has a natural story telling talent, and she has some quite good reviews (to say the least) from her son. Mrs. Hurwitz you truly are the master of masters. The title of the podcast should be changed on iTunes however. It just says spreaker instead of the easy chair.
