    Eh
I’ve only listen to season 1 so far, hoping to find there are some hosts changed moving forward. The way Curtis talks to the girls grosses me out. The things he says to/about them are always irrelevant, and the girls are clearly not into it but he does. not. stop - so uncomfortable!

    Thank you!
Thank you for constructively reviewing Game of Thrones! I was so sick of seeing everyone complain about the final season but you guys did an amazing job and I’m so happy I found people who liked it just as much as I did! You guys are amazing!

    Good
The former lit major in me is very pleased that the folks on this podcast actually address themes/tropes/rhetoric etc. while being humorous. Nice to listen to overall, especially compared to some of the other “analysis” podcasts out there.

    Makes me think
I love the many different viewpoints and predictions these guys give after each show.

Wanted to love it but could not...
Watching the show live with their commentary as a podcast is a fail. Weird pauses (10s of seconds long) as they watch and THEN comment, consistently makes you think your AirPods are cutting out b/c of lost Bluetooth connectivity, except it’s just the podcast. Actual post show review episodes have uneven non equalized audio spliced together, likely round table recorded from various locations, which just sounds awful and keeps you from paying attention to their likely interesting and relevant commentary. Hope they fix the audio format/issues for a more professional sounding podcast if they reunite for another series. Returning back to my old stalwarts for the remaining GOT final season episodes, Vanity Fair recap and Nerdette game of thrones recap.

Great mix of enthusiasm and entertainment
Like the excitement, knowledge and fun. Diverse and intelligent commentary delivered with passion.

    Jump
I heard about the Jon yelling for Arya to get by the dragon to get to Bran and it kinda makes sense. Another thing - how did Arya get that jump? Maybe she pole vaulted using that spear sticking out of Thrones chest? Wish they could confirm this.

    Constant wrong information
The hosts are constantly saying wrong information . Every episode . They need to replace the hosts with people who actually know the show. Like just this past episode one of the host says there must always be a stark in the north ? You mean winterfell ? And also maester luwin wouldn’t come out of the crypts because he was killed during theons rebellion and only only starks are buried there anyway. Also Dolores edd was introduced in season 2 . Not season 1 and Jorah has been there since episode 1 not 3 or 4. That’s just a few mistakes from one of the episode reviews . There are way more .

    BEST Afterbuzz after show!
Afterbuzz after shows are my fav to listen to! I get about as excited to listen to this show as I do watching the actual show. I look forward to hearing talks take on what we just watched for many reasons but 1 major reason is that I miss stuff or I won’t get the meaning behind something. I LOVE that I’m able to listen to y’all discuss the show! I also love the predictions cause again, sometime I might miss where something is headed. As far as y’all getting SOME details wrong, it’s crap that y’all would get negative reviews because of it. We r all human and we ALL make mistakes! I wasn’t at all bothered by the fact that someone thought Jon’s hand wasn’t burned....it’s RIDICULOUS that someone was! Just another person that LOVES to be mad and looks for any excuse to “put people in their place” SMH! RIDICULOUS! I forget who made that mistake but please don’t let that review effect you! Y’all are all lovely and I look forward to ending this series with yall❤️

    More of the same
Just one of a dozen similar shows. Fans with no particular expertise or unique insight swooning over a show in a desperate attempt to grow their social media presence by riding the shows popularity.
  • Gelu Unus
    Can’t stop themselves
Every week they have the opportunity to escape with us and talk about a great fictional tale.... and they always get sidetracked with current political commentary! So distracting and upsetting.

    Curtis is so fing creepy
My gawd it sounds as if Curtis is the creepy old guy with his di$& in his hand as he’s talking to the women. SO creepy.

Okay for a casual viewer. Not for in-depth analysis.
If you're doing a podcast about Game of Thrones, you should at least know and understand the show. I cringed every time one of them said "Walter Frey" and then turned it off when someone talked about Catlyn Stark being in the cripts of Winterfell. Honestly, I can't even say that Ned is down there for sure. Any book reader knows what happened to catlyn's body. The show never disclosed where her body is (to my recollection). Bottom line, if you're a casual viewer, this may be fine for you but if you're looking for substantial and thoughtful analysis and discussions there are several others that are much better.

    Mixed
I am reviewing all available episodes in anticipation of the start of season 8. The first season podcast hosts are terrible. One host, Bethany, hated the sight of blood and admitted to having closed her eyes during key scenes. None of the hosts did their homework. They had zero insights to offer. Finally, one host, Curtis, was very creepily hitting on another host Sarah. But the second season podcast has new better hosts who have more enthusiasm for the show and who have more in depth analysis and insights to offer. Nonetheless the insights over all the seasons peak at level meh. Though I do enjoy Dave Childs and Kristin Snyder (and company’s) enthusiasm. Ps As a lawyer I will argue that Littlefinger’s trial was perfectly legit!
  • Creative Cakes
    Seriously
I just can’t with all the awkwardly uncomfortable flirting by Curtis. Talk about the show, and keep your interest in the ladies off air. Gross.
  • _oliverfink_
    Terrible
There is no substance to what there talking about. Making entry level analysis and just outright idiotic things. Very disappointing and annoying to listen to.

    Offensive hosts in S1
With the last GOT coming April, decided to binge from the beginning and listen to early episodes. Had to stop because first hosts were blatantly offensive and sexist. From the inability to even say Peter Dinklage’s name without saying “little dwarf” to commenting on the “sexiness” and dress hem length of the women on the pod panel, I just can’t. The final straw was a “what do you call a woman with two black eyes” supposed joke by a host, followed by laughter by all hosts. Come on. I see new hosts started in season 2, but given offensive comments in season 1, I recommend removing S1 from available episodes

    Not bad
A few of the hosts have pretty good takes on the GOT world. Not Amber though lol. Her hindsight review of S01E01 was pretty unbearable, the comparisons to today's social issues didn't help. Staying away from that specific episodes style will go a long way. Sorry Amber

    I mean...
5/5. Could listen to Ryan Malaty read the Westerosi phone book all. day. long. Oh, and it's a very entertaining, informative, and insightful podcast.

    Rubbish
I tried to listen to a few episodes and couldn't finish any of them. The absolute worst was the latest "character analysis" re: Sansa Stark. Admittedly not my favorite character either, but the absolute garbage misogynistic view points expressed is completely indefensible (by a woman no less, and a woman who clearly understands nothing of the world she's talking about despite supposedly having read the books while retaining the barest of facts apparently). Complete crap. Don't waste your time when there are plenty of other recaps out there done that are far superior.
  • Tlinscomb 8922
    Okay show
Good show for content but there is only so much valley girl I can take. I had to tap out.
  • NoCo99
    Annoying at best
I tried one episode but there's no way I'll suffer through another one ever again. Yes, they mispronounce GoT specific words but they also mispronounce or don't seem to know the meanings of regular English words. They're trying to sound smart, however, only one of them seems to be able to pull it off.
  • RoyBoon
    Not horrible but...
This is not a horrible GoT podcast but there are at least 3 or 4 that you should prioritize over this one. The hosts seem not terribly knowledgeable in terms of providing context and often times seem not to have paid close attention to the details of an episode where they misstate events or pose questions that were already addressed in the episode.
  • jason-cnz
    What are you looking for?
If you are just a very casual viewer of GoT and you want to listen to a show hosted by a crew who are the same, then you will probably enjoy this. They have good banter and humor, but their knowledge of the world of ice and fire is extremely limited. If you are looking for someone to expand on your experience and give you background info into the rich story of GoT, then there are much better options.
  • cdoaggie
Know less than the average viewer.
When I know more than a group of people reviewing the episode, right after the episode airs, there is no reason to listen.
  • Texaslawyer
There are too many GoT podcasts to waste time on this one.
My least favorite of the GoT podcasts I've listened to.
  • redab_
    Not the best
The introduce was loud and too much. Nice people and I love GoT so much that I listened for about 1/2 an episode but I ended up just turning it off. I'll stick with my normal podcast

    Volume
Your volumes are all jacked up. My car volume max is 40. At 20 I can't hear you guys on the highway with windows shut. At 40 I still can barely here a couple of the hosts. You guys HAVE to do something about that. Podcasting 101.

    Podcast of Drones
I would have enjoyed sitting in a bar next to a crowded table of tipsy teens recapping the episode more than submitting to the tortures of your vapid semblance of a podcast. The Boltons could save a lot of time making their victims listen to the bunch of you rather than bother flaying the alive. The pain would be so much worse.

    Poor sound
Poor sound quality and unfunny people. :/

Not knowledgeable at all. Surface level coverage and many mistakes.
The hosts are not knowledgeable about the books or the show. I have listened to this podcast on and off for a couple of seasons mainly because it's the first podcast out on Monday when I'm craving Game of Thrones content. Unfortunately, this means the hosts don't have time to gather their thoughts before they record. Even though at least one host is a book reader, a lot of mistakes are made, including pronunciation. This season so far they have incorrectly pronounced Olenna (it's oh-len-uh, not OLEEANNA or OLAINA!), Cersei (it's Sir-say, not Seer-say), Gendry (NOT JENDRY), and Sansa (should be pronounced SONSA). If they only made pronunciation mistakes, I'd be able to stick with them but there are many times the hosts don't understand the plot, the significance of certain events or misremember things. They rarely pick up on anything I hadn't already noticed. I generally have this issue with the afterbuzz podcasts, since they cover so many shows, it seems their hosts are just casual watchers. There are some better podcasts out there for viewers who want to get into the weeds (Cast of Kings, Storm of Spoilers, and Game of Thrones podcast from Bald Move).
  • Howardchief
    Wow
Made it 11 seconds into season 7 episode 4 review and turned it off. Good job.

    Great Podcast
One of my favorite Afterbuzz podcasts. The hosts are great breaking things down so we don't miss any detail. Keep us the good work! :) P.S. I can't wait to see how Danny reacts to finding out that John is the one true heir to the Iron Throne. (Since John is the son of the last Targaryen Crown Prince)

    Disappointed
After this week, I am no longer a listener...what a disappointment.

    Better out there
It's alright...you can tell 5 minutes into the show they don't know too much about game of thrones..not as much as other podcasts anyway.

    Garbage
They don't know the plot and pronounce people's names wrong.

    More for casual fans
I watch and read this series religiously and this was far from in depth, critical analysis. Many times the podcasters were talking over each other making it difficult to hear or just simply annoying. Has some good information, but for the most part they take random facts and try to mash them into predictions and sensible plot developments. No thanks.
  • Gotlisah
    Not good
This is really annoying and didn't offer any additional insight that the regular GOT watcher didn't already know. Plus one of the guys couldn't stop coughing through the podcast. That was so distracting. Isn't there a mute button? Should've waited for bald move to post their recap. They're way better.
  • Cmellowdee
5 minutes I'm done listening to small minded hosts
I'll preface this review by saying that Im not a review-type person, not a GOT book reader and I've listened to several Afterbuzz podcasts before. And although not all hosts/opinions I favor and I have to suffer through corny brand intros and sound effects like it's still the 1990's (someone please change that!) Afterbuzz podcasts are still generally tolerable. I started with season 6 ep 9, as I am rewatching last two eps in season 6 GOT before I watch premier of Season 7, but I turned that podcast off with a duration of 5:22. Smh. The immediate shallow analysis of Sansa was idiotic. If the hosts of an analysis show cannot pick up on the subtle nuances of characters and plot, they should not be hosting an analysis show. And def not one for the 'show of all shows'-GOT. A bunch of rash superficial judgements with no basis and no consideration to all the overlapping plot lines at play

    Podcast Production
Hey guys! Great show, great conversations! My only piece of advise is individual microphones for each person in the discussion, or have someone ride the levels on a mixer board. It sounds as though you have a couple microphones in the middle of a table and you all talk together. Besides that, great podcast!
  • Meeshythelefty
Glad to have ppl to talk to about the show
All my friends like sports and only sports.
  • Jonsnow46635785
    Horrible
These people should be ashamed to call themselves thrones fans. Absolutley no knowledge of the show or books.
  • Appreciated;)
    There's better
Too many people, way too goofy. They don't know all the names sometimes, their theories are often way way off and they kinda just gloss over stuff. Cast of Kings is better
  • Blorpal
    They know nothing
They seem clueless, the people in the chat know more about what's going on and the intro will make you want to kill yourself.
