If you love listening to dumb people trying to act smart about southern hillbilly football, then this one is for you.

    Head Up Boys
This podcast has been something I looked forward to every week for several years. Richard and Godfrey were finding their stride hosting together, and Kirshner was a great fill in. I hope they all land on their feet and bring something like this back to the college football realm soon.

When is Godfrey coming back. I can’t take these two bozos.

    Great
I do think 2.0 needs to get back into the heavy football analysis.

    VOX has finally taken charge...
They bleeped the word “Redskins” from the PAPN podcast. You must be a fully woke Marxist to appreciate this pod.

    I miss Bill C.
The old blend of Godfrey’s sarcasm and Bill C’s analytical commentary worked really well. Unfortunately, Richard was the wrong choice in the split role Bill vacated. I think Spencer is fine but I’m not in to gambling as much so it takes up more time than I’d prefer. If they ever replaced Richard’s elitist, boring and humorless takes with virtually anyone else, I’d resubscribe instantly.

    Great show
Richard is the perfect amount of obnoxious

    Best College Football Pod
Seriously my favorite college football podcast. I came in on the last episode with Bill so I’ve really only known PAPN 2.0 and I look forward to every episode. Richard, Godfrey, and Bud are great and I’d love to get a beer with them. Go blazers!
  • suicidewatch
There can only be two ones.
I was told there is only one college football podcast but this one also exists, so it must be about football from another universe.
  • actual_podcast_listener
It’s good and people that dislike a vocal person on a podcast are weird.
PAPN 2.0 is solid and is rounding out into a good rotation of consistent content with different segments that folks that like different kinds of podcasts can enjoy within an episode can enjoy, unless you want a podcast where nobody’s excited about anything, anyway.

    The other football podcast
The yin to the fullcast’s yang. You can become a football Highlander if you cross the streams. Come for the tasting menu, stay for the deeply underrated coaching search episodes.

Great podcast! Keep it going! 😁😁😁😄

    Changed but still great
Obviously when you lose half a podcast things will be different. Godfrey is great, Bud is great, Richard is... not. Still a great listen and really enjoy the concepts they provide

One of the better if not best CFB pods
Great balance of good insight backed up by solid analysis with real talk and humor. Very nice delivery and these fellas get off the beaten path and give great analysis on some interesting matchups that other pods seem to pass over for the more marquee games. Definitely subscribe and listen GATA

    Good podcast
Reasons this is a good 3 star podcast: smart, affable hosts and guests. Solid football knowledge. Good coverage of the Group of 5. Not an SEC homer, which is greatly appreciated. Deep knowledge of coaches and the coaching profession. Reasons this is NOT a 4/5 star podcast: too much gambling talk on college football (make this a stand-alone weekly podcast). Giving kickoff times using Central time zone (deeply damages credibility). The occasional hot take that is more suitable for Twitter (you’re better than this). Let’s personal dislike of a program get in the way of good analysis (see UCF). Unneeded and unuseful profanity as to where I can’t share this podcast with my child.

Downhill since the inclusion of Bud Elliott
It pains me to write this, as PAPN used to be be my favorite sports podcast, but since Bill left and Bud Elliott, in part, replaced him, the quality of the podcast tanked. I listened to PAPN because it had a unique blend of statistical analysis, X’s and O’s breakdowns, and insider knowledge, none of which Bud Elliott provides. Instead, every episode with him devolves into First Take-level analysis in which his eye test counts for more than any statistical aptitude or scouting ability. More than once, he has genuinely said “team X ain’t played nobody”, the very line of “analysis” that the podcast’s title mocks. Essentially, the addition of Bud Elliott to the podcast completely ruins the entire project because he embodies the exact type of terrible analysis for which the podcast originally countered.

    5 stars w/Bud, 3 w/Richard
Still a good pod. Miss Bill, but Bud adds value with a good, measured angle. Nothing against Richard, he just doesn’t add anything. Edit: sorry fellas, used to skip the parts with Richard, but now he’s in the whole thing. Like with the addition of Holly Anderson to the fullcast... subtraction by addition.

    I actually can’t listen anymore
I tried to fight through. I love Godfrey and Bud, but oh my god Richard is the worst person I have ever heard talk in my entire life. He’s unbearable. I can’t even fight through it anymore, he’s THAT awful

    Roll dang podcast tide
It's Godfrey's show, but I really enjoy how Bud and Richard each contribute something unique to the discussion. Great job, guys.

    Uneven in content and modulation
Whew. This is a tough one. The newest incarnation is very irritating to listen to. Still provides value, so likely I will continue, but the Godfrey and Rich combination is a constant series of shouting asides from Rich, like a Saturday morning cartoon, and they stomp on each other’s lines constantly. I think this is the style most like these days. Lots of ‘energy’ in conversation like a bad table of recently legal juniors at a sports bar. I’m hoping this settles down into more of a conversational format.

Not what it used to be
Had to unsubscribe... Bud ruined Godfrey

    👍
Decent analysis, despite the gross overuse of “proof of concept”.

    Something Different, Something Good
I miss Bill, I really do. The rapport he established with Godfrey was a perfect mix of the stat nerd and the jaded insider coming together to find something joyful in CFB. That being said I don’t share the aversion to PAPN v2.0 that some other reviews do. Richard is a fresh voice with a unique perspective that two middle class gen X white dudes simply didn’t have, and I think bringing on Bud was a great idea. It’s a way to still engage with the numbers side of things from a new POV, and now that sports betting is legal nationwide it’s also quite relevant. I’m still learning things from these dorks, so I call it a win. PAPN 2.0 is a new twist on the formula that’s still finding it’s sea legs, but I’m really excited to see where they go with it.

Huge CFB Fan that enjoys but come on...
Used to really enjoy the podcast with the banter between Godfrey and Bill. Unfortunately Richard doesn’t bring much to the podcast and is really hard to listen to at times. I will still listen for the game previews heading into the weekends but the analysis on the backend has really taken a large step backward without Bill. Never thought I could miss a Mizzou fan...

    Love it
    love it. thanks man

    Don’t care
I don’t care how you’re doing gambling on cfb. Your gambling is not interesting. Godfrey’s interviews are quite good. His co-hosts are awful.
  • The Brian Trust
    Exhibit of replacement level
It’s astonishing how little actual information this podcast conveys now that Bill C is gone. Godfrey oscillating between 5 feet away and lips directly on the mic is omnipresent. Bud Elliot is the only saving grace.
  • Dankester
    Smart guys talking about CFB
Sad to see Bill C. go, but Godfrey is a smart, thoughtful guy, and doesn’t put up with shenanigans so most every guest he’ll bring on is pretty good if not good. Godfrey with the SDFC crew is pure gold.

    A new perspective
As a college football player who plans on getting into the media side once my career is over, this gave me a brand new perspective on college football analysis. The marriage between numbers and words, especially in college football bingo was absolutely brilliant. I’m sad to watch version 1 go but am excited for the future for both hosts.

    Excellent NFL podcast
Would strongly recommend to an NFL fan
  • ry_how
    In depth and funny
If you care about the real intricacies of college football, not just the top of the P5, this is the podcast for you. As a football coach, I couldn’t ask for anything better when running study hall or driving to work
  • bkl5432
Simply the best college football podcast
Each host had a deep knowledge of their niche and they do an amazing job of giving us insight. No sign of being pretentious, just two guys who love the same sport as you and want to better you as a fan
  • danielryantn
Incredible amount of information in a digestible format
I don’t get to watch college ball like I once did, but this show allows me to stay on top of the sport.

    Condescending
THE Hipster College Football Podcast, if you like content about any school with a big name you’re wrong and deserve scorn. Bragging about how you won’t spend time on bigger programs is like bragging about driving under the speed limit: it’s boring.

    Must-listen
Any one that considers himself or herself a college football fan really needs to listeon to this. You get great, fact-based analysis and great stories as well. Something for everyone.

    Decisively Not Assy
The perfect podcast for college football junkies. If you care about the sport deeper than the playoff hunt, this is the podcast for you. Bill and Godfrey cover all the topics that college football fans care about. A must-listen every week.
  • TMDare
    Another group of SEC homers...
The only teams they cover are from the SEC and Group of 5. Another bland rah rah homer podcast.
  • Camden A. Smith
    Perfect combination
Godfrey and Bill C hit a home run with the combination of deep statistical analysis and “traditional” discussion along with covering P5 and G6 teams. Love PAPN and S&P+.
  • NDFAn11112

    The perfect Saturday companion
This show is the perfect balance of serious analysis with still having a relatively laid back atmosphere, and has takes that are backed up with evidence rather than the usual regional bloviating. The two hosts complement each other perfectly as well. If you want one good college football podcast that cuts out all the BS, this is the ideal one for you.
  • brandeis_
Unlistenable. Bill, please do your own podcast.
Bill clearly knows his stuff, which made the podcast very informative and engaging at first. However, his co-host is possibly one of the worst sports radio hosts /podcasters I’ve ever heard. The juvenile *yelling for emphasis*, and his own self-congratulatory nonstop sarcasm and snarkiness don’t come off the way he probably thinks it does in his own mind. Is this what happens when hipsters age and try so hard to sound like one of the cool kids? Bill, please start your own podcast, I’ll be subscribed in a heartbeat.
