BEST PODCAST I’VE EVER LISTENED TO. Both the author and the narrator are friggin GENIUSES. They cultivate more colorful characters from the halls of history than any teacher in school ever could. It’s both hilarious and absolutely intriguing, A MUST MUST MUST MUST. I cannot wait to see what real yet astonishing story is next! Something True truly shows us how strange yet marvelous our world can be!

This podcast brings me such joy and is the one I recommend the most to friends who are looking for something new. Excellent writing, voice acting, and the stories always makes me laugh. Season 2 only got even better (and s1 was pretty great). I really hope for more seasons and to really show that, this is the first review I’ve ever written for a podcast.

I listen to many, many podcasts. “The resurrection of the flesh” is the best, most hilarious episode I’ve ever heard.

The writing and narration in this podcast is amazing. It's quirky, violent, funny, and full of great twists and absurd plots. I was so incredibly excited when a new season popped up on my feed, and I can't wait until they release more! I made myself wait a week between listening to savor them. Excellent podcast!!

I actually mean that. So entertaining, so funny, yet so true!!!!! Each episode is a gem. And very easily consumed, I don’t think any are even 30 minutes long. To the creators: I assume you have other, surely better paying, jobs. But PLEASE make a season 3! (And 4, and 5.....) This is one of the (few) things that the Internet has made possible which makes life more enjoyable. Please don’t stop.

Give up sleep, neglect your hygiene, abandon your families... sacrifice whatever you need to to keep producing Something True stories.

I adore this podcast. Every episode makes me laugh, and I have gleefully shared several episodes with friends. Not to mention the family members I have hooked on Something True while I had them trapped in my car. I love the history and personalities of the stories. I love the absurdity of the truth in them. I love most of all how the narrator brings it all alive with an air of professorial quirkiness and erudite whimsy. I was so excited t get the second season, and though I wish I’d paced myself, I listened to each one as soon as I could. I hope hope hope we’ll get another season. Or another ten seasons! For now I’ll go back to replaying these as often as I’ve replayed the first season.

(You’ll get this comment after listening) Top rate, if only it didn’t take so so soo utterly long to dig up obscure little known facts about these events, or even discover the events themselves at all! Something True is a really strong podcast. The writing and narraration are top notch and the stories themselves are brilliant. My personal favorite is "Babylon" but every single episode is both entertaining and fascinating. And by "every single.." I mean 8 episodes plus a Holiday Special bonus episode. So on that point, what gives? Where is season 2? What is the status and what can the now devoted listeners expect next? Google searches have revealed very little.

This podcast is probably my favorite ever! I love the stories, the narration and everything else about it.

There's lots of obscure history podcasts, but none are written and produced as well as Something True. And so funny! This show's singular flaw is that there is not nearly enough of it.

Screamingly funny and occasionally moving. The writing is all understated, beautifully constructed hilarity on the theme of odd historical incidents and legends; the narration is mellifluous and wry. Especially recommended for fans of The Memory Palace and Drunk History. Literally the only bad thing I can say is that there are way too few episodes.

Most entertaining.

The stories chosen are interesting. It's the narrator that really shines. I'd listen to him tell stories all day long. I can really recommend this short little cast.

This is a delightful podcast for your 15-20 miniute an episode needs. Complete stories for each epsiode, Duncan Fife's writing and Alex Ashby's narration brings stories that wouldn't normally be interesting to a whole new light.

Something True is the podcast I've told all my podcast-listening friends about. It's novel, wry, and witty. I haven't been this excited about a new episode since the first season of Serial. Keep it up!

Often so good and so short I'll listen multiple times.

It's very, very, very, very, very, very good storytelling. The narrator's inflections and dramatic and comedic timing are just on point. Look out for Ruska Pravda.

Great tidbits from history.

I got hooked with episode 3, Malpaso and haven't looked back since. This well-produced podcast is a sleeper hit.
