Jordon PetersonUnknown HistoryShort, very short stories with sometimes questionable accuracy. Sounds like narrative myths. No sources. Because every thing is bookended with ads, listening back to back is annoying. Speaker spends More time promoting book and ads than providing content. If your searching for LOFO stories, or if you are public school teacher.. this podcast is for you.

Johnson8943FantasticI’m so glad I stumbled upon this podcast. It’s so cool hearing history from the point of view of those experiencing it. Great delivery. Highly recommend.

lasergirlnmShillingI am enjoying the podcasts as I am a history buff and love learning new things. HOWEVER, I’m seeing this podcast as a way for certain authors to shill for their own books. If thy are so proud of their works, they need to do book tours and personal appearances, not shill dueling an educational podcast.

Evry1sLostButMeA fantastic vignette podcastI have spent the weekend grading papers and have enjoyed each and every podcast. As a high school social studies teacher, I am loving this information of which I shall share some podcasts and add other into my lectures as stunning bits of history that no one, including the textbooks.

Modern crusaderQuality content... questionable accuracy at timesEpisode 38 S2: I find it hard to believe that Gubbins, a presumably well educated gentlemen, hadn’t studied the American Civil and relied solely on his experiences with Sinn Féin to build the foundation of his alleged new type of warfare. I explicitly use alleged because on the North American continent it has been used to great ends; French and Indian war, Various tribal wars, our war of independence, 1812, and especially our American Civil War; when Europe learned more than they could have possibly imagined. Ask the Boers how that worked out for them. I maintain his true and pure inspirations for guerrilla warfare most likely the innovators: Quantrill, John Hunt Morgan, Bloody Bill Anderson and to an extent, the Grey Ghost John Singleton Mosby. I enjoy the podcast and look forward to all future episodes. Keep up the good work.

jkl5876Interesting history mini-podI just discovered this podcast, so have only listened to about the first 6 episodes. For anyone who enjoys history, or likes to learn trivia , this would definitely be for you. I call them mini-pods , as so far, they've all been pretty short, but they are packed with neat little details. If you only have a few minutes to fill, and want to learn something new, plug in those earphones and give this one a try.

TStewartAmuse-bouches of historySurprisingly informative for such a brief format - and a terrific selection of subjects. Well done.

LizzieI629Unique and interestingLove this podcast! The history lessons are so unique and engaging. I consider myself pretty well-versed in history, but this podcast never fails to teach me something I never knew! I also love the random but interesting details that are always included. Thanks Giles!

Boh @ The Spliff PotcastRIP PJAs an historian and trivia host, I LOVE this podcast. Absurd tid bits that humanize stories we think we all know? Sign me up! I was really stoked to find this podcast, and very saddened to learn of PJ's passing. Thank you, Giles, for continuing this in his honor, and for your engaging stories. Thank you PJ for sharing them with us while you could <3

Dandilion22Good, quick listensFun history lessons that are fast listens for enjoying with your morning coffee or while commuting. Definitely didn't learn any of this while I was in school!

ms401Interesting but the "host" sounds boredThe meat of this podcast, the "unknown history", is very interesting however the host "PJ" sounds like he'd rather be doing something else - he sounds bored and disconnected. I think it would be improved by doing what the other QDT podcasts and have Giles be the host and main speaker.

Mirandal8302Great concept, poor deliveryI enjoy learning quirky, little-known facts so I love the idea of this podcast. Giles Milton is clearly very knowledgeable and has the appeal of your favorite college professor. However, the host/interviewer who poses the questions for Giles has very stilted delivery and is clearly reading from a script. This coupled with the question/answer format makes the show sound very contrived, overly-scripted and uneven. Please just get rid of the host, give Giles Milton the mike and let him run the whole show. Check out Mike Rowe's The Way I Heard It podcast for a great example of what this show could be with a more appealing format.

DM6112Insightful and engagingI'm a huge history nerd, so it's not easy to find facts or stories I haven't already heard, but I've learned something new every episode. Giles is a great storyteller, and I can't wait to hear more!

A1501msACMFascinating stories from history you've never heard before. I love the short, surprising approach -- five minutes is the perfect length. And Giles has the best British accent!
