I’m a feminist, new author who left a cult.
Excellent content! I’m the author of the new release graphic novel CULT GIRLS (on Amazon & Barnes) by Natalie Grand. It’s a light hearted comedy, based on a true story of 4 women born, raised in the Jehovah’s Witness cult. If you are looking for an anti-cult activist special guest my Twitter is Natalie Grand.

    Love it!
I started by reading "Sex Object" ended up here. I love this podcast, I love the guests, it inspires me at the same time that gives me new perspective in subjects about feminism. As a woman and a immigrant in the U.S I had to be taught about feminism and immigration issues, and this podcast opened my eyes !

    Great podcast
I recently turned fourteen, and I'm finding that the topics discussed on this podcast are becoming more and more relevant to my life. I listen to What Would a Feminist do on my way to school, to prepare myself for the unintentional sexist and misogynistic comments I often hear from my peers. It has completely changed my mindset and made me less ignorant and more confident. Thankyou

    Informative and refreshing
A must for any complete podcast feed. Jessica Valenti does a fantastic job creating an accessible yet fresh look at a range of issues facing women and feminism. As a man trying to wake up but starting from behind, I've learned so much listening to the show, and get excited when the show comes up in my feed. The guests are great, and Jessica's interviews and her coverage outside the interviews are sharp, well researched, and well produced. Thanks for a great show!

    Finally! A feminist voice!
I have followed Jessica Valenti for years now and her work is amazing. She brings fabulous guests on her show and discuss real issues that apply to real life. I'm thankful that the guardian is allowing this strong feminist voice to break through the noise of misogyny.

    Thorough and accessible
The podcast covers a wide range of issues, brings on guests with many different identities, and is extremely educational. It's also quite accessible - the hosts or guests explain the more academic or specialist terms for a general audience.

    You Lost Me When...
When I heard one of the guests say, "Abortion is normal." Just because it happens, it doesn't make it normal. It makes it a tradgedy. Stop saying women feel guilty for having abortions because society is shaming you. Just stop it. You feel guilty because it's hardcoded in our DNA to nurture life. Ending life on any trajectory is soul-crushing. If you are going to be pro-choice, you have an obligation to watch a YouTube video of an unborn baby fighting of the invasive needle of the abortionist in terror. Only then should you allow yourself to be pro-choice. I think a real feminist lays down her life for others. Especially her children. If you are having an abortion because having a kid isn't convenient for you, you are selfish to put it mildly. Don't be afraid to take on some traditional roles while still not taking bs from people. The best feminists I know get stuff done in a classy way. Their husbands serve them and they serve their husbands and it never comes close to deminishing who they are as women.

    Good podcast
As a longtime feminist myself, I find this podcast to be both thought-provoking and reassuring at the same time. It's helpful to know that there are other women struggling with how to explain things/make others understand our experiences. However, I was disappointed with the episode about changing your last name. I found the tone to be slightly judgmental. I am married and am in the midst of deciding if I want to change my last name. I come from a family where we all shared one name, and it always made me happy when I heard people refer to us as (for example) The Smiths. We were one singular and unbreakable unit. We had a name. I want that for my future family. I can get sad and frustrated that women are expected to change their last names, and I wish there were a more elegant solution. Of course, I could have made it an important ask of my husband to agree to take my last name, but I find that equally unfair. He doesn't mind if I keep my name, though I do think he would prefer for us to share one name. If I do change my last name, it is because of my love for having one singular family name. Families, to me, are exclusive tribes. We are bonded for life. I feel that way with my siblings and parents still, but I am excited to start my own tribe that is unique to me and my new husband. I don't think this perspective was adequately represented. I don't think (and I know the makers of this podcast don't either) that all feminists have to make the same choices. But, I wish they had given airtime to people like me.

    Love love love
This podcast has been a breath of fresh air, I love the open conversations about feminist issues, concerns, and questions. It brings out a lot of emotions for me and puts into words feminist feelings I wasn't yet able to describe for myself. I've learned, laughed, wondered, cried (openly wept!) and loved it all the same. Thank you to Jessica and all the guests, every episode has been enlightening and reaffirming. If only new episodes came out every week :)

    Excellent discussions
I love this podcast. Jessica discusses many important topics. Many may shy away from this podcast because the word "feminist" STILL unfortunately has negative connotations, but this podcast is a great example of why being a feminist is for both men and women.

    Open and comprehensive
"Feminist" is a tough label to own, I've come to realize, as it often can feel ostracizing to many, male and female, who haven't previously identified as such. That being said, for those unidentified feminists out there, have no fear. This show embodies true feminism, which in itself I've always found to be easily described as a humanistic pursuit. Comprehensive and open conversations on the world around us. Cheers and keep up the good work on behalf of the human race.
