Dustin is becoming an ear sore to this show!
I have listened off and on and have never truly liked Dustin, he's so negative, vulgar and thinks he's so funny. Always interrupting the other hosts and I'm tired of his obsession with Trump and reality tv. I listen because I love Fran, wish she would get her own podcast because this one seems like it's on its last leg...

    Love yall, but…
I know the world is heavy right now but episodes have been hard to lesson to lately with all the fear mongering. I know the show likes to tackle more serious topics sometimes. But lately the energy has been feeling so heavy and kinda…giving musty brain. Where is the light? Where is the wellness?

    Y’all REALLY my friends 😆
NewER listener here! In the past month, I’ve needed a new pod to help put a smile on my face…y’all have done just that! So much so that I’ve started from the beginning of the year while I wait for your Wednesday drops! …and the music segment!? Forget it! My playlists are POPPIN bc of all your recommendations. (The self-care segment is beautiful + Dustin is just a foo 🤣) Thanks for being amazing 🫶🏾

    My Favorite
It’s October, so my mom and I are joyfully re-listening to the Natalia Grace episode. I am screaming all over again. The commentary is unmatched. I love this show so much. Fran, Dustin, and Assanté deserve all the good things. 🫶🏽

    Y’all get me through!!
I am somewhat new to podcast world and couldn’t find shows giving energy that I rock with until I found The Friend Zone! Thank you Dustin, Fran, and Assante for your individual and collective talents! Dustin- Special shout out for your recent view about Kim Burrell “apolo-lying”. I agreed with every word you said and probably would agree with what you didn’t say! Fran I love your spirit and heart! Assante- Talk more!! Overall, Keep doing what yall doing!
  • Nah buddy
    Respect assante
Seems like Dustin enjoys brushing assante off. His episodes & views are never respected . Comes off as rude corny jokes.

Love the podcast but please let Assante talk, it’s very frustrating.

    OMG Assante
Sometimes I’m like, b r e a t h e! I LOVE this show, but you can be long winded in getting to the point.
  • Laurbella0430
    Thank you!!
Fran you have inspired me so much with your Driving journey. I’m a few episodes behind, I’m just hearing about how you drove to the dentist. I have been struggling to get behind the wheel. I am in my forties and I have had my license for 4 years and have only driven twice, because I am terrified. Everything that you said has resonated with me so much. You just have to do it! Thank you my fellow Taurus sis, you have encouraged me so much ❤️.
  • nffddbdddd
    Respect for assanté
This is a great show but the constant interruption to their co host assante is becoming unbearable. Dustin will drag his dad jokes way too long and consistently try to find a joke in everything..
  • Day_sunshine
    Regarding post malone lol
Heyyyyy I feel like Bey chose post Malone because he is one of those artists that goes from hip hop to rock, to alternative and that is what bey is doing. Going through the different genres of music. House to country. Post Malone is a great artist to jump into country with !!!

Love this podcast, but can yall please stop interrupting and changing the topic while Assante’s talking?
  • Aukeya
    Luv yall but…
Can yall please stop interrupting Assante! 😂

    :(
I used to REALLY love this show. I was a weekly listener since the beginning. I don’t know what has happened in the past year or two but it’s time for me to move on. To say this show is about ‘mental wellness’ is a reach. Dustin has become insufferable. He is simply not mature enough for the type of conversations Fran tries to bring to the show. The jokes during & about very serious topics are too much. Also, there is constant disrespect to Assante from both the other hosts with non-stop interruptions when it’s his week. I hate to let get but I have to.

    DUSTIN TOOK ME OUT!!!
Dustin is a man of many talents! But this last episode of the when he did the impression of Neeka from RHOP, that was PRICELESS!!!!
  • raine9229
    Still here 🤍
I’ve been a listener for 5 years & can honestly say I love yall even when I don’t agree with 100% of the perspectives shared. I appreciate y’all’s honestly, transparency & the laughsss🤣 . Also LET ASANTÈ SPEAK!

    Good Podcast
This podcast has been great for laughs, but the Backpack Rapper episode a bit of a disappointment. I agree that not everyone needs to publicly state via instagram their opinion about the genocide that is happening in Gaza, but they seemed to minimize or dismiss the pro-liberation movement that is happening online, in court, and at protests. Horrific things are happening in Gaza, and there have been ramifications in the US as well. People have been fired, threatened, and child was murdered due to the rising Islamophobia. Anyways… they have good music recommendations.

    Palestine / Outgrowing the Show
Honestly, the recent conversations about Palestine have been disappointing. Particularly the stances of Dustin & Assante. Very craven, both-sides, that’s not my business, “I don’t know enough”, type attitudes and it’s disgusting given we’re talking about genocide. I just feel like this time period requires more of us overall and I’m honestly not sure what this podcast is contributing to the culture and ecosystem anymore. They barely talk about mental health anymore or have guest experts. What direction is the show going in? I’m not sticking around to find out. I wish them the best though.

First I thought it was an accident
At first I thought the Asante interruptions were an accident but it’s clear Dustin and Fran do it on purpose. It’s unfortunate. New Year, still interrupting Asante.
  • I am so Disappoint
    long-time listener
I am a long-time listener and I can still say I love this show so much. It is such a great part of my week. I really enjoy the chemistry between the three of y’all. There isn’t anything like it. Thank you so much for all the laughs, all the black businesses, and all the joy that you share and every episode. Happy new year!
  • Malkia_1993
    Love y’all down!
I love this show so much. I got to see y’all live in 2017 in Chicago, I can’t wait for y’all to go on a live tour again. This show has gotten me through so much, for the last 7 years! You three were meant to have a show!
  • ladypates
    Let Assante speak!
Okay I love the show but y’all need to stop interrupting Assante segments. Let the man make his point and then make the comments and jokes that we love. It happens every time he has a segment and it’s clearly intentional

The Read said Free Palestine twice. Then here they go with an episode about why you shouldn’t even ask them to say it.

    Love
This show has gotten me through just about every season of my adulthood. Thank you Fran, Assante, and Dustin for all that you do!

    Fav. Podcast
I have over 200 episodes saved just so I can listen again for laughs, fun facts , life hacks, lessons, wellness tips & more ! The podcast is so well rounded; I never get bored with it.

    The editing?
Is it just me or does the audio either skip or lap?

    Brain Fog
I love this podcast. As an active smoker and a creative for many years, I can tell when weed starts to affect my work, thought process and speech. This episode was a hard listen. Assante, love, I’m rooting for a cleanse! Y’all keep being great! ❤️
  • chelsea (a girl has no chill)
    love y’all
but assante, please prepare an outline for your episodes so it’s easier to follow for yourself AND the listeners. this week was hard to enjoy and dustin’s constant unnecessary interruptions didn’t help. y’all have been doing this too long for this to still be happening.
  • Sumayyah89
    As a listener….
I really enjoy the show, especially the silliness that Dustin bring to the show; but y’all have to learn Asant’e finish his thoughts. Y’all know he can’t stay focused for too long and will start to ramble. But please let him make his point , because sometimes it takes forever for him to get there . With Love, 😘
  • Kaylahkent_
Honest opinion from long time fan
Assantè, you don’t need to give us all the disclaimers and side notes before you begin your segment. Dustin was right this episode, all the negative talk is unnecessary. As a long time listener…I understand your style of storytelling, your way of thinking, I get your jokes. You are an amazing asset to the show, but your lack of confidence sometimes makes it hard to listen. Keep doing your thing the listeners who get it, get it. Love you.

Bed Bugs Will Wear You THIN
My family experienced a bed bug infestation about 10 years ago and we had to dispose of EVERYTHING! Couches, beds, chairs, you name it. On top of the quarantine procedures we had to take months after we rid the problem. I pray to God I never experience that again. It absolutely weighs on your mental… like to the point of ptsd 🙂 Check the corners/seams of your bed & couches every month!! Bed bugs can live over a year without food. & you sure don’t want them feeding on you 😟

    All of them
I absolutely LOVE the Friends Zone! Thank you for all the laughs (Dustin). This is the best podcast in my library. ☺️😎
  • My real name is AHYRIS 💗
    I’m obsessed 💗
I put y’all on when I’m happy , I put y’all on when I’m sad. I listened to every single episode from 2015 - to now … back back forth and forth. When y’all take y’all break I be mad … but when y’all come back , I be happy again 😂😂😂😂😂 No but Frfr Y’all are truly amazing! Also some of these peoples negative comments sound like they got triggered. GO TO THERAPY WH*RES dont take it out on The Friend Zone.. Again Great Show 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    Girl - HUSH!
Love the podcast, but Fran….dang girl! Hush sometimes! She interrupted Asanté’s hot button topic to talk about something completely irrelevant to his topic (scammers). This ain’t the first time she’s interrupted him. 😓 If you want to talk about stuff in the news, create a segment for it - don’t keep interrupting Asanté. ☹️
  • Despicable Me Fanatic
I thought it was just me
I’ve been noticing for a while how upset I get hearing Assante get spoken over. That’s why I stopped listening for a while. I want to hear his perspective and having him say “LISTEN” multiple times and hearing Dustin or Fran keep talking over him and laughing gets me riled up. Sure things like that can happen sometimes when something is really funny, but it happens a bit too often. Please let Assante speak. He has great points, well informed and I care about he has to say.
  • Kedaaaaa
    Gratitude
Grateful that Fran followed her GUT with this episode. It was much needed and appreciated. Thank you !❤️

    Best Podcast Hands Down
I absolutely love this pod cast!!! It has gotten me through some rough days at work!! The laughter is so contagious!! I always feel like I am sitting with my friends talking!! Thank you for sharing your gifts!!
  • je5988
    Pls let Assante speak lol
The year is 2023 and they still speak over Assante
  • AsokahTano
    Show has changed
I do like this show but it seems like it has no structure.. Dustin is always interrupting Assante. Dustin always wants to talk about housewives. When Assante comes with a new topic Dustin ruins it with his off-topic input. Fran doesn’t really have interesting topics. Seems like it is time for the show to sign off.
  • hhiijfdxv
    This podcast is great!!!
The versatility and the depth of each topic is so awesome!!!! Love it ‼️❤️‼️👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Freaky Ministry
I’d gotten behind on episodes, but started listening today. Omg this episode has been exactly what I needed today. I have been laughing the entire time. I love you all SO much. I need this listen to release my days as a school administrator. This is one of my guilty pleasures.

    On again off again
I like this show, they have good points, they can be funny, and I also learn things from time to time. Also, sometimes Dustin doesn’t know when to end a joke and it can go on and on and on. 🫠🙃
  • Mor25!
    Victim blaming
I was listening to the “Stolen Youth” episode and there was a LOT of victim blaming and making fun of the young adults who were abused. The hosts of this podcast should educate themselves on cults, coercive control, domestic abuse, and how anyone could end up as a victim. I’ve listened to true crime comedy podcasts with very vulgar humor and I have laughed along. The difference is in those podcasts they clown on the perpetrator or make jokes off of random parts of the story, but they don’t bring the victims into the joke. They show respect to the victim(s) and their families. The blame is always on the evil person who is committing the crime. If your comedy content is laughing at how “stupid” the victim was, then you’re not that funny after all.

    Wrap it Up
I used to listen to this podcast every week. Haven’t listened to it in years because nothing about it is mental health or wellness. Assante is constantly being interrupted when it’s already hard for him to form a cohesive thought (he needs his own podcast again so he can really thrive). Hang this ish up. Y’all had a good run.

    What Happened to the Equality?
I have listened for years, and the only thing that bothers me is it seems Dustin and Assanté's portions are not as equally poured into. I would like for more equal time with each focused section. If there is nothing to offer on the consistent topics then I would have liked for you all to just pick a topic to speak about in replacement. Even if it's recorded seperatly and added in that space. A storytime for example. Majority of the time it feels like Fran's podcast with tiny features. I would love more intention in the seperate pieces, and not just refferals to the Patreon. The sections can change if the consistency is not sustainable. Assanté can talk about music pop culture if there is no music for him to review. I just want more equal in depth perspectives not just side commentary.
