Best way to digest sports media insights
Such a great job of delving into stats while staying on topic of sports media

Great content and enjoy current hosts
I’ve been a listener of the pod for a few years now and the current trio of hosts - Scarlet, Michael, and Mike - are the best so far. I enjoy the mix of sports business news/discussion, the interviews of sports business leaders, and Michael Barr’s weekly fantasy updates during football season. Thanks to Scarlet for breaking up the boys club. It’s been refreshing.

    Ads blasting in your ears
Business of Sports once again raises the volume of ads to a literally painful level, so much so that I must hurriedly fumble for the audio controls to lower the volume. And the ads start running with no lead time. Just boom, BUY THIS PRODUCT NOW! Other podcasts don’t do this. Of all the podcasts to which I subscribe, Business of Sports alone assaults your ears with loud, LOUD, LOUD! ads. I unsubscribed once because of this. Then it stopped. Now the audio assault is back. Unsubscribing again. Bye, bye, Old Man Barr. I’ll miss ya. But my ears are more important than any podcast.
  • Newspapers are cool!
    New hosts please!
These hosts are awful! Need a new voice and sound please. Great guests but the Audio and voices remains poor

    WNBA
Why don’t you guys ever talk about the Women’s National Basketball Association? It’s a great league with interesting economics behind it!

Content is good but audio is horrible
The content is interesting but they need to find a producer to mix the audio.

    Change is not great
Really missing the old team. The loss of each one and total transition to this new team has been rough. Totally different show. Bigger guests but less business of sports oriented.

    Miss the old hosts
Miss the former hosts. They stuck to the business of sports, which is why we are here. Hopefully, the new hosts can get back to that topic and leave the politics for another forum.

    Dissapointed in Departures
As someone who works in the sports industry, this used to be my favorite podcast. I was really dissapointed to see Scott Soshnick go, but still really liked Eben Novy-Williams and Michael Barr. When Eben left the show, it became un-listenable. Jason Kelly is not a good fit for this show and I had to unsubscribe on both Apple and Spotify

    What about the other sports?
This podcast only focuses on the business of the MLB, NBA, NHL, and NFL. It does not recognize other leagues as official sports leagues with broadcast rights or sponsors or worthy of their time. If the IOC recognizes them why doesn’t this podcast? The other area of concern is that while acknowledging sports are more heavily swayed towards men, it is not all men and women make up teams of administrators, coaches, and athletes that need regular representation as hosts of this podcast.

    Good idea, bad execution
The final straw was the take that college students should not be able to make money off their name image and likeness because they may not spend it wisely. That we should deny legal adults a portion of the revenue they are integral in generating because they may “buy Lamborghinis” is so stupid it kind of invalidates other intelligent takes

Like the new two man format
Love the new two man format with Barr and Eben. Both guys come off very genuine and work well off each other. There seems to be no need for each guy to one up each other and they just do a great job of making this podcast a great listen.

    Great content
The content within each episode is awesome. The length is great for binge listening and I’m not losing focus will listening to the podcast!

    Great Hosts, Better Content
This podcast is unique and covers two of my favorite subjects in one go. The format flows well based on Barr setting up Eben or Scott to knock it out of the park with facts that these guys just seem to spew off the top of their head. Great stuff, everyone. Keep it up.

    Great Host Chemistry
These three hosts work really well together bringing unique perspectives to the table. I like how they talk about the side of stories that are typically not highlighted by traditional media outlets.

I wonder if any of the hosts have a 12 year old son who plays hockey in Greenwich

Please get Barr of the show
Barr is old man yells at cloud. Get of my lawn. Doesn’t know anything relevant to the sports, social media or TV industry. He seems like such a Nice guy but doesn’t belong on this podcast. Eben and Scott have to baby him by constantly correcting him of simple trends and facts one should know if you’re doing a sports biz podcast. He Thinks DVDs are still in use. Doesn’t know FB makes original programming content. He doesn’t understand how the new NBA draft lottery rules work. And these are just things in the last week! You can’t be on a sports biz podcast if you don’t know this stuff. The list goes on and on. In The nicest way possible please Barr get off the podcast. Eben is only saving grace to this show. Incredibly smart and knows what he’s talking about.

    A good listen...
I like the hosts take on Sports Business, they are funny, witty and knowledgeable. I listen mostly on my way home and it’s entertaining and I feel I get my sports business news in. They don’t have a gimmick like some other shows. They also have good guests. Highly recommended.
  • laxss2g4ever
    One good host, two buffoons
Barr is horrible and kills all the energy from the show. Momentum goes well and then he gets on and just halts the show in its tracks. Eben is the saving grace of the show. He actually adds intellect to the show.
  • Mrdc2013
Keep the jokes. And the good info
I read a comment about the jokes taking 20% on the podcast. I’ll tell you, from a guy who consumes this content walking to and from work most of the time, i enjoy the jokes, and the sarcasm. This business (sports) has a lot of both! I think you guys offer a solid product. Business, news, interviews. A must in my podcast list. Keep it up!
  • Mld5080
    Love Show HATE the banter
I have never been motivated to write a review for a podcast before. The primary subject matter of covering the issues of sports business is fantastic. This was a great listen for those in or interested in the industry. However, the host team has slowly sunk to becoming unbearable due to a perceived need to have “banter” in the beginning of every episode. It doesn’t work and wastes about 20% of the shows running time. If you are a regular listener, the repeated and forced jokes that can only be funny to the guys in the booth do not add value, and distract from the unique coverage angle and quality of the interview roster. Stick to the subject matter, save your laughter for how you say each others names and trying to build your own brands for after hours or on Twitter.
