Presenters with no business or economics understanding
I used to listen to this show but increasingly, I can’t stand listening to presenters who have no clue what they are talking about. Often pronounce names and topics incorrectly because they never heard the name or term before. Worst presenter I’ve ever listened to is Felicity Hannah. How she works on this show is beyond me. She blabs on about her kids and personal topics 90% of the time to fill in the gaps in topics she has no understanding of. Don’t waste your time. Many other, better podcasts out there.

A whole hour of broadcast business 😍
I used to be glued to my radio for the 15 minute business news slot in the Today programme. I’d viciously guard this time against the constant demands from husband, children and pets. Now, now I have discovered (stumbled across!!!???) Radio 5 Live’s Wake up to money 😃 Frankly, what have I been doing?? Where have I been? I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this show! Global news plus guests from ALL sectors of business and from across the whole of our country - Yes! including ‘The North’ - love hearing all the different regional accents from active business owners and WOMEN in business. Such insights from subject matter experts! Economic perspectives and predictions based on current, lived experience and a fantastic balance of opinions from large and small business. Plus, given the WHOLE programme is about business news, I can just dive straight in on the BBC Sounds app without having to fast forward through to a short segment within another programme. I often listen on playback while I’m cooking or walking the dogs. My day is not complete without this programme. Thank you! 🥹❤️🌈

    Getting Worse
Have listened for years, but the presenters, who had full knowledge of the financial and company world have mostly gone. Only Sean Farrington seems to have any gravitas. The podcast is now so dumbed down with little in depth financial news. Felicity Hannah saying ‘I want to hear from you’ every few minutes is infuriating! Will be unsubscribing.

    Rubbish
Wake up to money I’ve been listening for years but it’s never been the same since Micky Clarke Their presenters just don’t have the edge or the knowledge I switch off a lot these days

    Daily listen
The podcast is excellent. A nice combination of contributions from the corporate financial sector and small medium businesses. Also quite balanced. Huge care is taken in making it easy for everyone to understand while being informative. While there are already many it would be great if you could get more representatives from industry bodies on, for example UK Hospitality as that gives a broader feedback that the individual cafe owner. Thank you Sean, Felicity and all the team for making my mornings more interesting.

    Favourite Radio Program
Excellent content delivered in an understandable way, even negative yield curves 😎, love it

    excellent
At last I have got around to writing a review for this wonderful podcast, which is informative, exceptionally well-researched and delivered in an unbiased fashion.

    Unsubscribing ….content deteriorated
As a listener for over 20 years. I have become so disappointed with the poor level of content of this programme. It used to be a programme that dealt with money issues relating to Companies and personal finance. The programme now has been dumbed down with the loss of commentators like Mickey Clarke and Louise Cooper. Not worth catching up with social chit chat.

    Slow down!
Excellent show but please Hannah, slow down! You sound like pinky & perky, it’s very off putting.

    Felicity Hannah
What a brilliant journalist, down to earth but so clever with comfortable questions that matter to us. I love it when she presents Wake up to Money, much more in touch with me also as a women who cares about money. Thank you.

    Fictional
The primary means of product in the U.K is the ability of government to borrow money and if that does not work they just print money. The U.K does not have another significant means of production yet this Podcasr seems happily report on other means of productions Very odd !

    Left leaning..
STOP saying and reporting that there is Fuel shortage... you have been told many times that there isn’t...ignorance and panic buying causes forecourts to run out before their next delivery which WILL arrive on time...

    Depressing, wake up to moaning
I used to love this show and found it informative. Over time it has just become more and more depressing. Every show has guests coming on moaning or sharing their depressing story about why life is hard for them or their trade. You feel worse after listening to every show. Yes the world is struggling in many areas but it can be presented in different ways to be more informative and less down beat day after day after day.

    Minimal money talk
Wake up to money used to be focused solely on financial discussions/advice. Now the topics just sound like any generic breakfast programme with sport talks and maybe the occasional business or financial news/ discussions.
  • freshwaterfishingwoman
    Missing
The new style of wake up to money is sadly lacking. I really miss the heavier more worldly programme of the past. Nothing wrong with the presenters but it does feel flat and basic. It comes across as a cheap production.

    New broom?
Like others I have been listening to this for years when it was scheduled to run for 30 mins. Then it was changed to 45 mins, so what has happened to the extra 15mins because of the changes we are back to just over 30min. It is still an interesting programme but something has gone out of it. Sean, nice lad, talks too much, best programmes are when Danni & Mickey are together, that girl knows her stuff & Mickey is the older wise head. One minute of news & thirty seconds of weather & that’s it. No advertising other podcasts & no musical announcements just straight forward business news whit a bit of humour. Please can we go back to the old format. Well that’s it I’m off to look for a podcast that will give me financial news. So far this week we have had boring programme listening to the woes of Runcorn now I have just given up on the one from Hull. How much more can one get out out of the wonderment of a wind turbine blade. Someone in the BBC got their sticky little fingers onto WUTM & changed everything, why, too lazy to start a new programme of their own. I used to listen to WUTM to get global financial news, that reminds me they have even stopped going over to Singapore where some of the time the cheery Rico would brighten the day. Goodbye WUTM you won’t last long with your boring trips round the country. If you want financial news watch Ian King on Sky or download the podcast.

    Wake up to England
Show is called wake up to Monday, all Sean does is talk about England gloriously being beaten by Italy(hehe)

    Not the same
    Where is Mickey?

    Good show
Interesting programme, good variety of topics and presenters

    Extremely negative outlook
If you enjoy waking up to a bloke and his guests being really negative about the economy and business in general this is for you. It doesn’t surprise me that a financial BBC podcast has such a negative outlook, but it’s just disappointing because this podcast has potential. There are plenty of positive stories out there. I’d recommend showcasing some of them. I tried to persevere but have had no choice but to unsubscribe.

    Bring back Mickey Clarke
Mickey Clark by far the best presenter, all the others dull in comparison. Bring back Mickey Clark
  • SeagullsandSirens
    WAIT A MINUTE……Here’s Mickey.
Old habits die hard, especially for those of us at a certain age. Listening to WUTM podcast whilst working is a pretty old habit but recently I tend to let it drift in and out of my subconciousness. Sean sounds a little perkier today I thought as I got stuck into my emails…..WAIT A MINUTE…..can it be? YES, hurrah, it's Mickey. Now I am fully engaged, WUTM has my full attention and this calls for a slice of cake to celebrate.

    Great show today
Listen daily. Such a good show today with Mickey Clarke on to give his down to earth personal view on what is happening in the world, well shepherded by Dani and good interviewees.

    Diminished quality in recent months
I’ve been disappointed in the show over the past few months since the change in presenters. It appears that the BBC have decided to align this at the same basic level of many other news programmes. Prior to this the show was interesting because it touched on subjects in more depth, which I enjoyed. I particularly enjoyed the financial market summary with Mickey Clark, which is now a thing of the past. Most of what is on the show these days is the same as the breakfast news, so it feels like a repeat.

    Mickey Clarke
Best presenter by a country mile, asks the most interesting and insightful questions. BBC, get your act together and get Mickey Clark back, we need him.

    Becoming mindless
This show should be renamed the Sean Farington show. He can talk for Britain and spends ages asking guests a questions and then butts in after a few seconds. He is on some sort of ego trip and likes the sound of his own voice. Bring back Louise and Mickey real broadcasters
  • harveymum
    Too pessimistic
I’m afraid this programme is towing the bbc line of promoting pessimism! This country could use some optimism, not constant negativity. It’s becoming boring.

    Good, Easy to Follow, Informative
Good, well developed points on what the day ahead may hold.

Used to be absolutely great! Now absolutely brutal!
Used to listen religiously at 515 am. Now almost can’t be bothered with the podcast. Seems to have followed the BBC down a bad rabbit hole. Used to be current with a business-news focus but now you can almost predict what and who they will have on every morning!
  • ClarkeeJ123
Bring back Sean and Mickey !!!!!
Not the show it used to be, since Danni joined their has been a growing emphasis on dumbing down, mainly through asking guests pointless questions, however, the use of a theremin to explain the UK debt levels was the last straw and just inappropriate (on 21 August 20). Please bring back Sean and Mickey and let Danni focus on Radio One’s NewsBeat !!!
  • BurntAsh77
    Let the guests answer
I’ve just given up on listening to today’s episode as it was so frustrating the way the presenter kept on talking over the guest (on to talk about apprenticeships) as they tried to answer the questions she had asked. Made it very difficult to listen to and a pointless exercise as the expert wasn’t allowed to finish a sentence. Not the first time this has happened but by far the worst, perhaps because I was interested in hearing what the guest was saying. I understand that kind of questioning perhaps with politicians evading answering questions but that wasn’t the situation here. Very poor
  • LelCCV
Banal, slow and not what it was
Dani seems a lovely lady but lacks financial knowledge and so her questioning is very banal and not incisive at all. I learn so much less from it than I used to. A real shame.
  • Billy Pisstick
    My favourite podcast
Im convinced this makes me smarter and more informed for my work. Mickey makes it for me and I am so sad to learn he is leaving. Louise too Just a heads up that todays podcast seems to be yesterdays. 5th august 2020
  • Pmffn
    Current Host is Terrible
Dani Hewson lets Travel Agents and Nightclub owners rant endlessly about how “unfair” it is that they aren’t allowed to operate how they want in 2020, but then pushes back on someone talking about the importance of moving away from single use plastic. Balance would be challenging all the callers who seem to think the government should give several weeks notice before changing lockdown measures. As if the virus will be considerate and wait for people to finish their holidays. Not journalism, sensationalism.

Losing out to this is money podcast
Please can you review the presenter Danii is terrible at this and a very poor interviewer . It has gone downhill so much without Sean, Micky and Louise . This is money podcast is now knocking spots off you ! Take action please - lots of people are unhappy with this podcast now and we all pay for it through our TV licence . Aren’t you supposed to consider your listeners feedback?!

No longer a quality business show
I appreciate times have changed and maybe it’s more difficult to produce a show in these COVID-19 times but WUTM has seriously dropped in quality. The host is genial and pleasant but without the likes of Mickey Clark and Rico we have lost the knowledgeable market and global business updates. The content we now get from WUTM is the same as Radio5 Live outputs throughout the day. No longer a true ‘business’ program that took time to explain in layman’s terms the complexities of business and the markets. I keep trying to give this new format a chance as I have listened for nearly 20 years but my interest is seriously waning.
  • LoveKenya
    Unsubscribing to WUTM
I have been a WUTM listener for years. Sadly, I have just unsubscribed. The ‘new look’ does not suit me. Bring back Sean, Louise and Mikey: they are missed.
  • Surrey Mac
Please change or lose another listener
I plead with you to read the reviews and revert back to when this was a popular and serious business program. Danii is pleasant but not suited to a business program. Use Sean , Mickey etc as your role models to revamp & keep this show alive. If you don’t I feel most will switch to Radio 4 or leave for a non BBC show.
  • Red dog Rod
    A floundering mishmash!
Once a witty, informative and easy to understand down to earth show is now as the title states....the presenters made it....Sean,Mickey,Louise,Rico and the rest of the Singapore team.....all had that quality about them that made the business world interesting......nothing but a complete mess now....a real shame.

    Difficult times
I know this is difficult show at this time but the gravitas has gone out of the show. There appears to be no planned content and programme seems to have lost its way. It was always a great listen but now just not bothering to listen on a regular basis
  • Mjocyp
    Wake up to Money
I’ve been listening to your podcast since it first became available. Sadly it is now it’s too long and trivial. Some of the guest ramble on about subjects they barely understand, just to pad the programme out. Bring back Sean and Mickey please.
  • murdoch 1
    Gone down hill fast
Since Mickey Clark was let go and Danni has got the hot seat this once great show has plummeted down to the red top sewer. What a disaster
  • Sudhan94
    Awesome start to the day
Defo recommend! I start my mornings listening to this podcast! Covers all the important topics and very well produced.

    Missing Mickey
This show needs to radically improve. Losing Micky was bad enough and now Sean is away I just wont bother listening until he gets back. Used to the the best daily podcast.

    Let’s have the professionals back.
So good to have Justin Urquhart Stewart on this morning.
