MGP TerpsSuper Podcast - ListenGreat show. Well done. Some of the best shows radio offered. Highly recommend.
-
Foggy N. OceanRight on time!I love how this podcast updates 4 hours later than Apple Podcasts say it updated. What fun!
-
Cwill1972Scratches the ItchI’ve been subscribed and listening for years… I get what’s advertised!
-
Whitey0414Great variety! So many vintage radio programs from many decades. These have also provided hundreds of hours of comfort over the many years these have been posted here. When things get a bit tough to handle, these shows allow me to drift back to a different time and place and forget the world for a while. Keep them coming.
-
IvyeedObsessed!Listening to these vintage radio tales feels like time traveling. I love that the original commercials are included. Just can’t get enough of ‘em.
-
The Page MasterBrings NostalgiaThese stories are classic and I love the classic horror thank you so much.
-
SocoSojoWynnorific AmbienceOld time radio stories, with a classic horror ambience, sparkling with vintage music and the richness of Mid-Atlantic accents, that particularly sophisticated sort of American-British hybrid, uniquely familiar to the Golden Age of Old Hollywood, wrapped in moodily moonlit sound effects, and star-studded as the Silver Screen. Cozy-up and settle in for a bewitching experience. These stories stir nostalgia and that peculiar twist of wynnorific chill; a novel type of beautifully dramatic and yet subtly creeping terror. You never know what you might get... but, you can be certain there is something here for everyone who loves classic mystery and horror, on the rocks with a twist. Original commercials included for immersion in this trip to another place and time, from a comfortable spot.

JoyMcMuffinSpooktacularI enjoy the these old school Camp fire tales. Thanks for digging them up!
-
Ponterbee's2ndPhoneTerrors Above The Others...The Horror! has a whole slew of episodes of the South African supernatural radio program “Beyond Midnight” (From the late 1960’s I believe). That alone gives this podcast five stars - and my deep gratitude.
-
RoccCityReminds me of a time that I wasn’t there forI always look forward to the new episodes of this show. The stories are always fun, without being violent or disturbing. Great for when I’m driving with the kids in the car. Thank you for uploading these.
-
Djam KaretI like all of Relic Radio!I love all of your podcast! Could you please fix the issue of podcast jumping to the next episode before the previous one is complete? Still a problem a two years later, does anyone actually work there? I'm gonna go ahead and unsubscribe now. Everything on here can be found at the internet archive, this podcast is garbage.
-
JEX7373Great ContentNot only are these fun to listen to, they’ve been brilliantly archived to present chilling episodes!
-
KEN_JR?Spooky and imaginativeIf these episodes are old, they still hold up! Fun & creepy
-
parrotfeathersSuperb!Love format and announcer also. Keep up the good work.
-
listenup1969GratefulThank you for compiling these programs for us to enjoy and providing information on the series and their production. Beyond the nostalgia, these are some really fun stories.
-
Western Electric 302The art of radio drama - uniquely chilling and thrillingI was the kid who’d jump into bed every night by 10, to hear the creaking door of the CBS Radio Mystery Theater’s signature opening, followed by “come in ... “ Those one-hour dramas really made an impression on my young imagination, as I lay listening in the dark. So interesting to hear so many of their 1,399 dramas all these years later, along with others I’d never heard. Thanks for doing the work to track down and present all these.
-
Michael L.G.Love it!I love this podcast so much and appreciate that they are bringing these relics back. We’ve listened to these many nights as we are going to bed for four years. The quality is varied, but that doesn’t matter unless the sound quality is bad, and that is the only real deterrent to particular episodes. Occasionally there is a really creepy episode!
-
Suski33Tremendous varietyRelic Radio shows are the best for mystery/suspense/horror programs from all corners of the globe. A brief intro to give some information about the original broadcast...and then on with the show! No messing about with unnecessary filler. Thanks for great old-time radio, and updates like clockwork!
-
Citrus SunshineEnjoyableGreat selection of old time radio plays.
-
ATravelerStoryThe BEST!Love this collection of Old-time radio shows -- listen to at least an episode every day, usually at bedtime. *evil cackle* So grateful to those who keep this art-form alive. Keep up the good work!
-
DavidFeldmannGreat collection of radio dramas! This is a great podcast to subscribe to if you’re looking to acquaint yourself with horror radio dramas. Be sure to check out anything from Nightfall and Quiet Please

🏝DM🏝A timeless classicTruly one of my favorite podcast throughout the years.
-
skelekatieThank you!My dad played old radio shows on our road trips when I was a kid. I think that’s why I like podcasts so much. Thank you for making my favorite shows available! Especially Suspense, Escape, and Lights Out.
-
TxkeleieioBest OTR podcast I found!I appreciate all of the work you do every week putting out a show with a short informative introduction...emphasis on short. Thanks!
-
Daisyann1Great consistent quality!Always great to hear! Quality acting and story telling always great! Enjoy!
-
TurdEatorMy favorite podcast.Great classic horror from the true masters of the genre. I’ve been listening to these shows for years. The host only interjects to give you a bit of history about the particular episode as it relates to the genre, show, and it’s place in time and history. Thanks for making these available to us! I can’t express how much I appreciate it. (I need to contribute to the patreon or whatever you have!)
-
TrilolightThanks!Love these old shows. Thanks so much for doing this.
-
Jvg74Quality radio shows from around the worldLove listening to this classic radio horror shows. It should be noted that shows from around the world are included on this podcast. This podcast is a blessing for all horror fans.
-
NerksterGreat listenVery cool show to listen to. Love going back in time!
-
Quisp67Good showThe Horror has a nice selection of OTR. The quality of each episode is usually good considering the source material. One thing that bothers me with most OTR shows is when they claim copyright or give a warning about not rebroadcasting the show. Funny when they are rebroadcasting shows they do not own or have paid rights to. CBS Mystery Theater is a perfect example. It is NOT in the public domain.
-
Ang^_^I love these old radio showsI have subscribed to many of his radio shows. They are always fun, thrilling, and my favorite thing to put on while I work on my crafts. Young, like me who has only heard tales of the golden age of radio, or middle age, when you can temper the programs coming back on in the 1970’s, or if you are the part of the golden generation and have fond memories of these playing while you did housework or them being on after school, old time radio has something for you. I think that this piece of history should be shared to every generation like a great book.
-
FuzeOneGreat storiesBut why do some of these episodes take so long to start that I have to skip it then come back to see if it plays? Also a lot of these episodes read “Not Available”. Why then have it on your podcast if not available? Clean house of “ unavailable episodes. Other than my 2 complaints. Love listening to these stories while I’m working in this boring hospital ...
-
The Frugal ExerciserSpooky!!I love to listen to the show when I’m going to see my clients. A perfect program when you’re in your car.
-
Acarroll413Not to be missed!Listen every week. It's so good
-
cwallace6474One of the bestTop notch and one of my go to podcasts for road trips.
-
Amanda@790Just wonderfulThe stories are truly breathtaking. The best part is that these are all from before all of the cliche horror films we have in the 20th century. Certainly worth a listen to.. I can't express my many thank you's in words. Not to mention the awesome voice of the host.
-
CRoss322blast from the pastI recently found this podcast and I've downloaded dozens of back episodes. I can't get enough. It reminds me of when I stayed up late watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents as a child! Plus, as an added bonus, the original advertisements are a great bonus and social touch stone for the time and place these stories aired.
-
Joel KrupaOh, the HORROR!Classic old time horror, great and atmospheric. Long time listener. Excellent quality work.
-
SouppyCoffeeKeep it upI love the old school story telling and the ads more. I so happy that these old parts of history are being saved and given back.
-
Richard FliehrVery good when sound quality is adequateI'm old enough to remember getting freaked out listening to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater over the actual radio, and so I was very pleased to find these on iTunes. However, like many things from youth, the actual shows were many times something better recalled than re-experienced. Kudos to OTR for trying to preserve all of these, but I find that my enjoyment is almost entirely dependent on the quality of the audio. If it is poor, I simply tune out quickly and can't follow the story. I try to stick to the more recent ones from the '60's and '70's, as the audio is typically clearer with them.
-
Jenna and BunnyGreat but needs better sound qualityThe selected old time radio stories are excellent. But sometimes the poor sound quality gets in the way of listening.
-
Dr. Al-MaloodCreepy and creativeThis really is an entertaining podcast. I look forward to each episode release. The writing and performances are interesting and captivating.
-
AnnliarubioTerrificWhat can I say? I am an otr nerd and this podcast, and Jim's others, are my favorites. Thank you!!!!!
-
LovinmyiTouch!Love it!I have loved OTR all my life, my dad having listened to a weekly program when I was younger that featured many different shows (comedy, mystery, etc). The program's here are top notch horror. They will give you the creeps and make you look over your shoulder. Classic OTR proves that no obscenity or profanity is ever needed for great programming. I have heard many of these shows before but never in a collection like this. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy these here!!
-
PhotopupHELP!This is the greatest podcast ‘on the air.’ I started listening to OTR when I was a teen, started collecting radian shows from the ’40 and now own thousands and listen to as many on The Horror. If I were to host a OTR podcast, these are the show I’d play. I got a bug in my head about one last week. It was a CBS Radio Mystery Theater, I couldn’t remember the name, but as I paged through a CBSRMT web site, I only had to go as far as #312 to find it. I know you sometimes take requests, could you please play ‘Fateful Reunion’ from 7/21/75…it was one of my favorites and had a creepy ending that would hold its own with any Quiet Please or Lights Out. Thanks again for your great taste in OTR…Bob from Morristown, NJ
-
GcurbGreat Old Horror…from the golden age of radio. Dim the lights and enjoy this super fun podcast. Highly recommended.
-
Atalinaswonderful! fun!I paint murals for hours... get lost into these stories..... out of all OTR podcasts... this one is focused on the show keeping to the originality. Thank you!!! Thank you!!!
-
I<3RonLove thisIt is amazing to listen to radio shows that my grandparents may have listened to when they were little. They can be a bit sexist and racist but it makes me understand the time. The ads are hilarious - especially the ones that explain how being skinny is unattractive and tell you how to gain weight. Changing times...
-
DylanthereviewerRequestI absolutely ADORE The Witch's Tale. Old Nancy and Satan are my favorite among the variety of hosts offered in this podcast. I see on the relic radio website that there are more episodes offered, but they are not in itunes. Please! Bring more of these up for download! Other than that, I love this show. It is very entertaining, and at times very frightening. FIVE STARS.
